@LavenderMint I've got a couple of medium puff cuffs. They are good and handy when I have braids or twists but I do love the hold of a banana clip. I buy short wide ones "for thick hair" but they always break...until recently. I stumbled upon Tegen website. Their clips looked like quality items. I bought a few medium banana clips and a few others for when my hair is straight.

I am very impressed with the banana clips. So far they have stood up to the test and show no signs of wear and tear. I style my hair from a wet wash and go and the gel and moisture can affect the plastic and metal of previous clips. These are well made and strong. All the teeth are still attached and straight. The best banana clips I have ever bought.

I don't know about banana clips because I don't wear them, but in terms of hair clips that can hold large natural hair, I recommend France Luxe. Some of their products look very similar to the tegen brand someone else posted. I can use a volume barrette always on stretched twists, sometimes on shrunken. They also have ave an extra volume barrette which can hold a lot of hair easily holds my shrunken twists all in a single ponytail

Since I just bought 4 from the Tegen site, I’m going to bookmark these for later. The barrettes, bun caps and chignon covers look like something I would definitely use. Thanks for the suggestion @nyeredzi!

I can’t recall who but I saw someone on YT use a kind of wrap that looked like a tube with an open section..... imagine if you used leggings but the foot openings were sewn together to complete the tube. It looked amazingly versatile. I considered buying just one to see how it’s made- I sew (knit tops & dresses are my favorite makes) and always need something to do with my scraps.

That's a good idea. I have a pair of leggings with an Aztec type of design. While they are beautiful to look at, they make my legs itch so I don't wear them. :look: I could practice with those I suppose. :lachen:

Isn’t it awesome?! Versatile, too, since leggings come in so many more versions than just plain knit fabric- and way less expensive. I want to try tying them like how I saw FaceOverMatter tie hers here. If I just do one line of stitching, it’ll be easy to take out later.

I don’t know if anyone here has posted about this lady but the Wrapunzel blog (and I think YT channel) also has lots of different wrap ideas. I’m not sure but I think she’s Orthodox Jewish; they use a different style of wrap called a tichel. It’s interesting.

I love the idea of using leggings for scarves. I have about 4 pairs that are too big for me, and the day before yesterday I realized how I could re-purpose them. Super easy, and free!
 
My aquarium / terrarium / resin hair toy arrived! At first I was so worried because it said it was delivered and I hadn't received anything. Turns out the mailman was wilin' that day. He gave us our neighbor's stuff, gave my stuff to the neighbor's 5 houses down, gave our next door neighbor's stuff to who know where. I mean, were they high that day? Fortunately the neighbor walked it over to us.

Review: it is beautiful. It's not perfect, because the resin part doesn't blend perfectly into the wood part. So the wood part looks natural, and where the resin pour starts, on the prongs themselves, it starts to look slick / shiny. But it's a minor thing. Major down side is that it's heavy. Especially top heavy. The resin part up top is quite thick. Also, the prongs are thick. I find thinner prongs of this sort:

slide in much more easily than these big prongs. Thee above are super comfortable and easy to insert. This one's prongs are so big, that if your hair is clumped, if you try to force it in too fast,you might break your hair forcing it through your hair. best to take it slow.

Okay, here are the pictures. The pictures on my phone are unbelievable, Beyond real life. And 32 MB. But these are still pretty good. I could see from the pictures that the part of my hair wrapped around the base of the bun, the ends of my hair, are a totally different color. And I never colored my hair, so I guess this is sun?

I love the details...the flowers inside the resin are beautiful. I also love your sunkissed hair color....mine does the same in the summer.
 
If anyone is suffering from beanie, turban or headwrap slippage like I was, invest in a wig/scarf band. I wore one for the first time today and usually I need two clips to hold my beanie in place. This time, I didn’t use any (still carried them just in case) and didn’t need any.

sorry it’s sideways. It was right side up when I took it.
I bought this last time I went to the local Renaissance Faire a year or so ago. I also bought one that’s the shape of a raven; both are made of rather stiff leather. This one is painted gold & green on top of being brown, I think. The details are very nice on both and were handmade, priced accordingly.
