Do you claim a length when you're grazing or fully there? Just curious where y'all are at. I know for myself my hair journey would have been much more difficult if I'd waited till every (or just about every) strand was at each milestone, so I claim when I'm grazing. But I know some ladies aren't as comfortable with that. So where are you at with this?

It varies and depends on what I am discussing. There are no cash prizes so it is whatever for me.

I claim it when a chunk of my straighten hair reaches the goal. If I don't straighten, I claim when my twist reach the goal. The point is I have to be able to look in the mirror and see it without pulling on my hair.

I feel like I can pull my hair further then I might be able to straighten it.

I go by the one strand rule:lachen: If I need to be specific I'll say grazing, or full - "insert length here"

I claim full when the bulk of my hair is past the line. Until then I claim it, but say I'm grazing.

I claim it when the entire back 1/4th of my head clearly reaches the mark. My U shape isn't major so I don't worry about the little side bits that didnt make it but r still very close. The rest of my hair is naturally layered because when I big chopped all strands were equal length so if I waited for my crown to reach BSL I would be looking like WL already. and the front 1/4 of my head is a work in progress :look: and I want some "congrats" too dammit!! lol j/k. As long as everything is coming along pretty nicely, nothing cray cray going on in the front, then the back 25% stretched and fully at the mark is what counts. No squinting or drawing a line on my iPhone with my finger allowed, lol.

I claim it when the majority of the back of my hair reaches the goal. the sides of my hair grow faster so I don't count that, (I tend to trim those more often to match so I don't be walking around looking crazy lol)

Grazing - A few strands are reaching the goal

Full - Majority of back portion has reached the goal

I claim when I've reached the full length goal. :yep:

i count it when i'm grazing....but i say i'm grazing.

my hair grows slow...i need my grazing length to count for something. it keeps me from going crazy.

i personally think to each her own...call when ya want to call it.

the only time i have an "issue" is when someone is obviously NOT there and they have one hair that barely makes it to a certain length. not that i care or get mad perse because life is too short for that, but i just think the person will feel so much better when they actually are at least grazing the length they want to claim. when you claim it too early, it takes away your thunder when you really do get there.

My hair is kinda in a blunt cut so if it touches a specific point then the bulk of it is also at that specific point.

I have U hemline and layers, when the bottom of the U reaches there I claim it. My hair is pretty full so it definally "looks it".

I'll claim it when I'm grazing, but I'll also put "grazing" in front of it as a disclaimer. My hair grows in a V, so when the widest part of the V reaches that length, I'll claim full.

I actually claim length by the hair in the back. I don't count my sides or front because those areas are shorter. If I can stretch my hair in the back and it hits the mark, then I claim that length. I also think there is a difference b/t just APL and full APL. APL is what I would claim if it was just the back. Full APL is when all my hair reaches at least APL.

I claim it as soon as my hair gets there like in my siggy. I just don't claim full.
