Got my first \"Is that a weave?\"

and I'm so pleased. I don't have very much hair but a friend of mine who saw my hair after the color incident, asked me this weekend, "Girl, is that really your hair or do you have something in there?"

I told her it was my hair and she said she couldn't believe it. "How did it grow back so fast." It does seem to be growing fast to me. She thought it was pretty. I was at a wedding and I wore it down (a rare occasion)

I never knew it could feel so good for some one to think your hair is not real. For one thing she is a good friend, not some one being catty and jealous. It was a sincere compliment.

That is a sweet compliment.

Girl if you're getting these compliments, now, imagine when you're really close to your goal.

I know the feeling, the last time my boyfriend was in town, I had my hair straightened (so you could really see the length), and he said: "baby, your hair is getting so long... it looks like tracks."

I could not wipe the smile of my face

I get comments like

"You don't have a relaxer...gon girl that's yo hair..("no..it's my brother's"

). As it gets longer it is getting some serious waves and looks wet and wavy so now I get

"You have Spanish hair!"...IS THAT YOUR HAIR?....(

) I am waiting for the "weave question anytime but the truth is I wear it out and uncovered so seldom that people rarely get to see it. (he he-till I get to waistlength...
