Hello y'all!! I might be getting myself into something big but I'm willing to try it anyway.

I've decided to get back to the gym, eat healthy and of course take better care of my hair. I figured that in order for me feel good about myself, I have to be beautiful inside and out to my standards of course (yep, not those of Hollywoods skin & bones)!!!.

In order to do just that here's what I'll do:

1- Body: Workout 45 mins (30 mins cardio + 15 mins strenght) 3-4 times per week. Boost my uptakes of protein

2- Hair: keep up with regimen (DC 2x week after shampoo + moisture/seal 2x day) and co-wash every workout day (wouldn't want to keep sweat on my hair.....)

3- Soul: Humm. Not sure yet!! Lol

So there u have it. I also noticed that my hair looked much nicer when I was regular at the gym (improves blood circulation) Feel free to join if u want!! I'll report my progress on a monthly basis. I'm not really looking to lose pounds (though I wouldn't be mad if I lost 5 lbs in the process hi hi), I just want to be fit, which does'n mean being skin & bones.

Soul: Journaling 5 minutes a day.
Works for me!
I may join you...Gotta think about it.

Meditation
Prayer
Reading an appropriate book (spiritual)
Quiet time
Church or bible study...
Like someone said...journaling or writing
hmmmm.
This is an interesting challenge. It certainly got me interested in how one DOES feed her soul?

I'll join. I am doing the same exact thing! So, thank you for this thread and this challenge! I started, seriously, going to the gym this past week. Mind you, I've been in an out of the gym since October. I never would be consistent and go, however. So once the new year hit, I signed back up and I've went every other day since last week Sunday. I feel confident this time around and I know that if I stick with it, I will see results. My goal is not to lose weight, although I won't be mad if that happens, but I want to get in shape. That's more important to me.

I BC'd my hair last week also. I am starting from scratch this time around and I am making this year, my last and final year of hair drama and disappointments. I plan on taking care of my hair, like I've never done before. So far, I am in braids and moisturize my scalp 2xs daily and apply my favorite, hair growing oil, castor oil, every other day. I anticipate the day, my hair will reach APL. And if I am luckly, and make it to hip length.....shhhhhhh, somebody better call 911 cause it's gonna be a frenzy in the streets, LMAO.

Finally, I am working on my soul. I want to be a better individual on the inside and out. I am working on my relationship with God, by praying more. Because it is through HIM that ALL things are possible.

So 2010, is going to be the year of progress and change! I am excited! And I wish all the ladies up here best of luck and I will update monthly as well :)

I want to join! I've been a bit of a lurker and have never done a challenge before. This one sounds just about right for me.

Hair-Weekly shampoo and deep condition, Cowashes twice a week, scalp massages every night. No heat! Protective styling during the work week.

Body-Take vitamins everyday. Eating a lot more fresh fruit/veggies and cutting back on the snacks. Going to the gym at least 3x a week.

Soul-Reading the bible everyday. Reading books that are going to build me up spiritually and mentally. Going to church weekly and being more involved.

understand that healthy hair begins from the inside out

Body:
Spend as much time working out as I spend on this site

Soul:
Stop stressing and keep trusting in God's word

My struggle area is the soul, and I know that's most important. So, I really need to step it up. I'll try to take baby steps and come up with start times and minimum times to get me going.
