Why should ONE comment bother you? Everyone has an opinion and you don't have to agree with strangers or even care what they think.
Moving on to more important issues, I got your reply to my message but didn't get the chance to reply. If you don't want to deal with yout hair right now, get cornrows (extensions), which should be much cheaper than individuals, for a short while to give you time to decide what you want to do - relax or continue transitioning.
Checkout my hairstyles: http://public.fotki.com/mummysgirl/transition-to-natural/hairdos-while-trans/. If you can't cornrow, you can still use pretty headbands/scarves to lay down your new growth You can try twistouts, I think flat twists might be slightly easier to learn than cornrows... If you decide to relax, enjoy your relaxed hair and you can transition another time...
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I CAN DO SOMETHING WITH THIS!!!! PLEASE DONT LAUGH!!!
thanks alot.. And I'm not bothered by her comment..just was writing what I thought she would like to hear..I had no ententions on leaving. I'm here to grow my hair!!
I vote BC. Your hair is short. You have a beautiful face and can pull it off
Try curly styles that work with your new growth not against it. Bantu knots are easy to do with transitioning hair. Buns are hard because it work to get the new growth to lay flat . Flat ironing is time consuming so I stick with quick and easy.
Hey Teysmith,
I have short hair and am transitioning too! I am easily bored with my hair so that's why I can't do expensive braids and weaves. I had cornrows this fall and lasted two days! (they were tight!)
Sometimes I flat iron. If you do it once a month or so to change things up, it shouldn't do that much damage.
I was feeling very self-conscious about braid outs and twist outs at first, but I got a lot of compliments. I worried about scaring the white folks, as I like to put it, so at first I would just say, "Oh felt like wearing the afro today." I pretend it's just my natural hair. I have a professional job, too.
Anyway... now I think I look pretty cute with a braidout and like I said I get lots of compliments..
I'm going to try wigs for a while so I can get my hands out of my hair. What's your problem with wigs, exactly? (You have me worried.)
You are much prettier than me, and I think I look okay with my curly twistout/braidout fro. Put on some cute earrings, and different headbands and do your make up and you'll be fine.
ENJOY your hair. If you are not having fun, then wha'ts the point?
okay..fine..I wont ask or complain anymore about my hair anymore.... as a matter a fact I'll stay off the hair forum and hang out in some of the others...maybe the off topic section....
I was thinking the same thing. You're definitely cute enough for it. But if you can't do 6that for work, then I suggest you hide your hair like previously suggested. You could rock a BC too, but I understand not wanting to do it. You should only BC when YOU are ready. In the meantime (though this may not be a very popular idea) you could go a head and relax(texlax) and then start cutting little by little when you have enough overall length to do ponies and buns that you would feel comfortable with. (See the Transitoners Who Didn't BC thread- not quite sure of the name but I'll bump it for you) Good LuckOfcourse there's a lot you can do with your hair!!!! Again, easy way =m Headbands, scarves, accessories...
Check out transitioners' fotkis, at the start of my transition, I spent every spare time I had gathering as much info/knowledge as I could. Check what current/past transitioners did with their hair when they were at your current stage in your transition.
You have longer hair than I thought. i like the second pic, you'd look good with a faux mohawk.
