:yay: :yay: Go MissJ! You can do it! :yay: :yay:

ITA with toosexy1..I just snipped and didn't prepare myself mentally or physically.
Best decision I've made, but I can get a little impatient about the shrinkage/length/knotts.

Good Luck..You're going to enjoy it!

ETA: accessories that I found very helpful...Big silver loop earrings and headbands.

I'm preparing for mine. I'll have a ttwa so I've bought some cute earrings. I'm going out to buy a new mascara and some funky eyeshadow aswell. I've enlisted the help of one of my naptural friends, so hopefully she wont cut off more than needed. I'm also gonna go buy some hair dye I'm thinking reddish light brown (I dont want hair the colour of my face and plain red is a little old) jst to give me some character.

Nothing at all. Infact i was scheduled to go a year of transitioning, but after I took my braids out after 8 months of transitioning, I hated, I mean hated my permed ends. So I just start cutting.

Anyway, Congrats. It is worth it!

I'm relaxed now...but when I was natural I would just have some cute styles planned with nice hair accessories. Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure too, you'll feel like a sexy diva.

I had all my products lined up so I wouldn't keep buying products once I was natural.

me too! Also, when he was cutting my hair I kept my eyes closed(wanted to be 'suprised' once it was over). Good luck and take some pics:)

Congrats on taking the big step to beautiful natural hair. I wished I had BC but I chose to transistion. I like the day of pampering suggestion Rambia made.

I know you will look good with a TWA. The new style will bring out your eyes.

I just woke up from my nap, picked up the scissors and conditioner and started cutting, I agree with the prev poster you just feel ready.

I didn't get a bc per se but when I did get rid of my relaxed ends, I was just so excited to finally have hair that was all one texture! I was so sick of transitioning. I only "prepared" by calling a salon (JC Penney) and speaking to the stylist to explain to her what I needed to have done. Once I felt comfortable that she understood, I was prepared!

I remember I had a work training session and I could not concentrate at all since my appointment was afterwards. After my cut, I went home and washed my hair. I just loved my hair and played with it.

I chopped earlier than planned, so I wasn't prepared.

Next day after the chop, I got a pedicure, new gold hoop earrings, and an eyebrow arch to go along with my new hair. I was so tired of feeling unattractive with the half-relaxed/half natural bun that I felt great (and human) after the BC.

I think lining up your products, hair accessories, other accessories and getting the rest of your "what makes you feel pretty" routine together is a great start.

Girl, I just made my appointment, went to the salon and had it chopped. I had a lot of new growth so I was content. I loved my "new" hair......no need to prepare. I'd treat myself to something like lunch or dinner....perhaps get a facial or something ike that....then top it off with the big chop. Make it your day. No prepping necessary...just pamper yourself and call it a day!

Just wanted to say, enjoy your natural hair girl!

Also, a suggestion-buy yourself some really pretty chandelier earrings to compliment your new style.

bumping.

I didn't really have to prepare myself because when you're ready, you're ready and nothing is going to stop you. I guess I have prepared myself for the big chop during the nine months I transitioned. I told myself I was doing on such and such day and did it. I wasn't nervous, no hesitation, no nothing. No looking back. I have been natural since May 12, 2006 and I cannot stop buying earrings, headbands, and hair flowers. A few days after my BC I planned to order a crap load of products from Carol's Daughter, but I splured in Aveda instead. I did buy the hair butter from Carol's Daughter though, which I love. I have spent so much money on my hair this month it's ridiculous, but I love it and couldn't be happier!

Good luck!
