oh HECK yes... that drama with my ex, and his now hood-rat girl toy, let me tell you she pulled my hair trying to make me hit her so I'd get put out of school, i didnt hit her but I tried to yank her neck outta socket... so I eventually cut it cause she put her hands on it, and I felt I was in a new phase in my life with the ex gone (never cutting because of a guy again!!) so I cut my midback length to arm pit, and its been growing almost bra strap... next time I see her bald headed hood-rat self I want waist length, and if she try to touch it I'll CUT HER!!!

 I kno das riiiight!!!!

this happens occasionally since i wear my hair up so much. of course i go out of my way to try to see them again. i'm petty, i know... :look:

when i was first growing my hair out, i hadn't seen my ex-husband in a while. when i did see him, and i had my hair down, do you know he had the nerve to make neighing sounds like a horse because he thought i had a weave? i LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the look on his face when he realized it was all mine. yep, doing so much better without you, *****!!

no he didnt:look: In His Face!!! :lachen:

This is one of the main things motivating my goal. I was teased so much in school cause my hair was always very thick and it was so hard for me to manage it. I have finally learned what my hair likes and it has never never never been this healthy. I am about 3 months from passing the longest that it has ever been in my life but I can not wait for BSL cause I know everyone will be shocked.

The bad thing about it is that I know my friends will ask what I have been doing and I almost don't want to give my secrets to them. They always made little side jokes and comments too. Coming from my friends, It would hurt my feelings big time so I guess I'm a little spiteful. But I know that its terrible to be like that so maybe I'll consider just telling them about this website but they gotta do the research on their own.

GREAT thread! Hmmm... Really the only person I want to surprise/impress is my sister. Mostly because I want to show her that:

A. Natural hair CAN be long and
B. Instead of complaining about her hair and laughing at my vitamin popping and unorthodox care regimen she should buckle down and do it too.

Even though she's made some not nice comments and been down on my natural journey, I guess I still want to inspire her more than anything else. I know how she struggles with her hair to the point where she gets depressed about its state, but it's SO hard to get her to try anything new. ("I don't have time for all that!" yadda yadda yadda)

Since she's my sister and I know how much she loves me no matter what negative thing she might say, I still want to help her if I can. Lead by example as they say.

I'm going home in July for a wedding so I'm hoping to be closer to APL by then. That would REALLY make her stop and think!

As to the ex-husband... Meh... if I never saw him again it would be too soon anyway. www.marryaloser.com

Yes, and I'm not afraid to unpin a bun on somebody if necessary. :sekret:

*LOL!!!* Too funny!

I actually had this happen to me at the nail salon Saturday....in reverse.

I had just clarified, dc'd, and blow dried my hair but didn't flatiron it yet. My hair is just at the tippy top of my brastrap and the length was really showing plus it looked thick because it wasn't flatironed yet.

Anyway, I'm sitting in the waiting rm waiting to b called and in walks a young chic with a headrag and a ballcap over it. She proceeds to do an eye weave check on me whenever she can sneak it in. After a while, she leaves the waiting rm....upon her return, she is SANS doorag and ballcap and has combed out her wrap to reveal a nice head of apl hair.....and she was sure to show it to me. I thought......'nice hair butterraaahhh was that really necessary for a STRANGER?'

Women can be SO competitive!

 TOTALLY unnecessary...I wouldn't ruin my protective style for a stranger...just somebody needed to know the business of my tresses.

I have actually asked myself if there was a non-obvious way I could do this if I ran into "said person" with my hair up one day!

You could run to the bathroom and do it, but I've been known to just take that sucker down for GP...and out comes tumbling my curls and length, and the  on their faces and the :look: on my face is enough. They can call me whatever they want, but bald-headed won't be one of them! :::throws up LHCF gang sign:::

This thread is great! ;)

I am kinda with yall on the ex category....I went natural right after we broke up and was honestly strugglin' with styles because I hadnt learned yet to turn my 4a naps into fly hairstyles.....so to be fair...I was looking rough.
He always had a smart comment about the natural look and how nice my hair looked before.

Anyways, due to our overlapping social circles....hes gonna be shocked when he sees me in a little while with swangin' straight long hair W/O a relaxer. He wants me back now as it is....but too bad...I need a more supportive man in my life :) one that loves my naps ;)

Okay, kind of spinning off from the thread about hair dreams... Kinikakes, your post was too funny! :)

Ladies, is there someone from your past that perhaps you haven't seen in a while and now that your hair is longer you would so regret running into this person if your hair were not down and flowing?

I know this is so shallow, but someone comes to mind for me. There's this person that if I ever ran into them, I hope it would be on a day where my hair was down. In fact, I ran into some of said person's family members about 2 years ago and my hair was down! I was so glad. :D

There is someone and I'm thinking when I am at my goal that I will get my hair laid and then stalk him at this bowling alley I know he's at every Tuesday and Thursday....:sekret: I'll be at the bar with my hair down and my skirt on with my legs crossed and my little cleavage out....

hmm there are a couple of people who have talked about my regimine or some aspect of my hair in the past and I do hope that when I start nearing APL and BSL I'll meet them in a light breeze!

This thread is too funny. I can think of a few people- and more so females than males. Just to show that just because you aren't wearing it down everyday doesn't mean you don't have hair- it could mean either you're trying to care of it or you have a goal of long, healthy, enviable hair!

:lachen:OMG! ...That would be too funny!

I do have one person in mind -- but I already know that if I do get caught, I will casually unpin my hair and shake it a little with my fingers like they do in the movies. So, it's all good.
