 I have a few questions for those who wear Lacefront wigs 1) How long do they last 2) Can you exercise with then in? 3) How long can you leave it in before you have to take it off and reapply it? 4) If I get a curly one can I can I straighten it at times and wash it to make it curly again? 5) Can I pull it in a ponytail/bun for work? 6) Any adverse side affects of the adhesive? 7) How do you care for your hair underneath the wig? 8) Can it get wet/wash/make it damp? 9) How do I oil my scalp underneath? 10) I am trying to use MTG and I aware that the smell is less than pleasent so how do I get it to my scalp without accumulating the smell?

I know it's more than a few questions but I really want one and I have researched them on various websites and got good, although sometimes conflicting, information. I find the best way to get to the truth is to ask someone who has no affiliation with the item for sale or the profits. Any other info you can give me is greatly appreciated !!! Thanks to all of you in advance.

I dont have a lacefront but I'll answer your ?s to the best of my ability just off of what I read on the weave/extension and lacefront forums over at BHM.

1) How long do they last - Depends on how long and often you wear it. If it's good quality hair it should last a year or so.

2) Can you exercise with then in? - Yes

3) How long can you leave it in before you have to take it off and reapply it? - I've heard 4 to 6 weeks. But most people take it off and put it back on weekly.

4) If I get a curly one can I can I straighten it at times and wash it to make it curly again? - If it's good quality hair you should be able to.

5) Can I pull it in a ponytail/bun for work? - If it's a full lacefront (and not just the front) you can style it any way you like.

6) Any adverse side affects of the adhesive? - It can be hard to get it on just right. The glue could pull out your hair if you get on your real hair and not just your skin.

7) How do you care for your hair underneath the wig? - Most people cornrow their hair or pull it back. Just like you would with a regular wig.

8) Can it get wet/wash/make it damp? - Yes

9) How do I oil my scalp underneath? - I'm not sure about this one. I would think so if you're going to be wearing it for an extended amount of time.

10) I am trying to use MTG and I aware that the smell is less than pleasent so how do I get it to my scalp without accumulating the smell? - I've never used MTG, so IDK. Most people who have weaves in their hair have said they can't get the smell out of the hair. I would imagine it would be the same with the lacefront since it will be on your head for a period of time.

1) How long do they last

I still have mine from over a year ago. I'm waiting on a new one and I've thought about using my old one again until then. It doesn't look too much different now than a year ago, see fotki.

It will definately depend on the hair quality and how well you take care of your unit/lace.

2) Can you exercise with then in?

Yeah.

3) How long can you leave it in before you have to take it off and reapply it?

This will depend on what type of adhesive you use. There are strong holds, and soft holds. That includes glues, tapes, creams. You will have to do research and and experiment to find what will work best for you. Everyone does not need the strongest adhesive.

4) If I get a curly one can I can I straighten it at times and wash it to make it curly again?

I've never had a curly one, but I believe so.

5) Can I pull it in a ponytail/bun for work?

Depends on the cap construction. If you have one that is all lace and it fits perfectly, then yes. You'll have to use adhesive for the nape and sides so that is why it will need to be a very good fit. Otherwise, either your hair will be showing or you'll be putting adhesive into your natural hair. My unit is mono base and can't be worn up. Well it probably could (and look janky lol), but for the most natural looking updo's I'd recommend an all lace cap.

6) Any adverse side affects of the adhesive?

As I mentioned before, the adhesives have different holds and there are those that can be irritating. I've read that for some, the stronger hold adhesives are a little too strong! Then of course, you want to make sure that the adhesive does not come in contact with your hair to avoid pulling out your natural hair. Also, some of the adhesives contain toxic ingredients. Once again, you'll have to do some research and decide what's best for you.

7) How do you care for your hair underneath the wig?

I would take mine off frequently and tend to my hair.

8) Can it get wet/wash/make it damp?

Yes. Many report going swimming in their units. As long as you have a good hold.

9) How do I oil my scalp underneath?

If you want to oil with the unit still on, you can try lifting the cap from the back while leaving the front glued.

10) I am trying to use MTG and I aware that the smell is less than pleasent so how do I get it to my scalp without accumulating the smell?

Try diluting it. Let is sit a while before applying your unit so you don't "trap" the smell!

I would definately recommend you check out the lacefront forum on blackhairmedia.com
