I've never posted progress pics before, but when I took down my braids last week my hair growth surprised me! That's the beauty of protective styles; it makes your big reveal that much better

The last time I relaxed my hair was January 2009. I transitioned for 27 months, first by straightening the new growth and wearing bantu knot-outs. Then I started wearing wigs in January 2010 and haven't looked back. I BC'ed in April 2011, and I'm still wiggin it lol. I might wear my real hair out someday, but I really need a haircut and I have a phobia of salons :lachen:

Anyway... enough talk, here are the pics!!!! (click thumbnails for a larger view)

Sorry my face is blocked... long night and no makeup lol

Thanks for reading!

Congrats! I will have to wait until I get home to see the pics. Please share your wig regimen.

YAY! I love seeing success of ppl who share the similars regimens! Lets me know I am on the right track!

Thanks everyone!

Wig Regimen:

Braid hair in 8 plaits

Wash and deep condition 1x week with Nizoral & Cathy Howse conditioner mix

Moisturize every other day with Cantu Shea Butter leave-in

Wear wig 90% of the time, w/satin wig cap

Redo braids every 2 months and trim 1/4 inch from the tip of each braid

I have the most UN-regimented regimen lol

Awesome job! And STILL thinking about how you were rocking that wig at the meet up! :lick:

Lovely hair jhcprincess! I especially like your May 2011 curls... and I want to see the rest of that blouse/dress. :look: The color is fabulous and you look great!

Thanks for sharing. Very simple. I am trying to get into the wig thing and need all the help I can get. I just purchased the sonya lace front wig. Your hair is beautiful....keep it up!

Nice progress! I'm also interested in the silk wig cap. I quit wearing wigs because of breakage I got a lot of breakage with regular wig cap. Dries out my hair alot.

sorry for the late response ya'll, I actually use a black silk scark that I tie around my head. Itis just long enough to cover everything, but the ends are short enough to tuck under without creating a "bump." Other times, I use a cap that is similar to a durag, but without the ties. The fabric is smooth and silky, not like a stocking wig cap, and I've experienced no breakage from these. I believe they're called wave caps, here's a link. http://cchairandbeauty.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1705
