I was expecting an ounce or two. It's 8.8 oz.

I like the fresh, clean scent. Is this a daily moisturizer? I was under the impression it was a rinse out conditioner, but the directions say "apply and style as desired".

The sls is freaking me out, too.

If it's a leave-in, I might try it the next time I press my hair.

I was thinking that it was a rinse out conditioner too...AND I noticed the sls, but it's way down in the ingredient list. Closer to the end than the beginning. I'm kinda scared to try it.

About 5 weeks ago, I ordered a sample of the Revlons realistic hair repair. I just received it today and am surprised to see that its actually a full size, 8.8oz jar, and not just the samples that come in those little packets. Since I just received it though, I cant make any judgement yet on if it works or not. Anyhow, here are the advertised uses on the jar:

On the front:
Fortifes relaxed hair, moisturizes fragile, sensitive hair.
Conditions and Imparts Shine.

On the back:
Visibly strenghthens and fortifies damaged hair. A blend of conditioners that help moisture retention. A MUST for dry damaged hair. DIRECTIONS: Apply Hair Repair by massaging into hair from roots to ends. Make sure to cover all hair. Excellent for natural, relaxed, pressed, curled or color-treated hair. Once applied brush or style as desired.

So far, I love the way it feels (not to heavy for my thin hair) and I also like the ingredients in it. (As if they hadnt already sold me on the advertisements

) However, I've decided to wait until after I get out of these braids and into a relaxer (which wont be until mid-end August) to start using it. I figure this will be the best time for me to assess how well it works on my hair.

I'm going to get up the nerve to try mine one of these days. I just can't get over the idea of a leave-in with sls in it...

It's fairly watery. I wonder why they put it in a tub instead of a bottle?

I got my sample (full size jar) yesterday and put it in my hair that same evening. My hair was very dry (probably from the sun) and it moistened it right up. I conditioner washed my hair this morning put some motions leave-in; wild hair growth oil and profectiv in my hair pulled it into a pony-tail, put a scarf on for a few minutes and looks great. Since I'm doing the conditioner washes at least 4-6 times a week, I plan to use the revlon hair repair treatment sample daily in the evenings to moisten my ends and roots. I'll let you know more results as I continue to use it. -- Thanks again for the link!

I received mine a few days ago. It has a nice light scent.
I think I will use it 1-2 times a week/ the day before shampoo. It softened and and added moisture but I just don't like leaving creams in more than a day or two.

I was wondering how often does this site put up products to critique? In other words, once the body butter is gone will they have something else available automatically or just when a company needs something critiqued?

i used it and liked it.. I received my sample yesterday and I could not wait!

It is kinda watery, and the SLS thing does scare me, BUT it was able to moisturize my chronic dry and breaking spot. My beloved WGO doeasn't even do this. I'm going to use the whole jar and note any negative effects from the SLS (if any). so far so good. I give it a 9 of 10 for moisturizing my rough spots.

I saw an ad for this in the Summer 2003 issue of Honey Hair & Beauty. They also have a Revlon Realistic shampoo, oil moisturizer, styling gel and a hair and scalp hairdressing. It looks like they revamped the packaging on the relaxers, too.

I noticed this, too. When I try it and give them my feedback I'm going to ask why they didn't put it in a tube or bottle...
