When did you cross over "To The Other Side"?

Around December 2007. I was too sick to handle my hair and I had no one to braid it for me. I was fully natural for about 1 year & at APL.

How are you coming along?
Great! I am really loving all the options I have being tex'd/relaxed. I can wear it curly when I want or straight with no heat/ little effort.

Are you happy with your choice?
In the beginning I was having doubts, but now that I have gotten to know my relaxed hair, I feel much better.

Do you miss your natural hair?
Nope. Although I LOVED it, I realized that I was wearing it straight most of the time and abusing it with heat causing major damage. Now I hardly have to use heat to get the results I want.

Are you transitioning back any time soon?
Nah. I'm gonna enjoy the ride for about 4 years!

Whats your hair type/length?
4a, with a little 3c here and there. I'm an inch away from BSL

What relaxer/ texturizer to you use?
ORS No Lye Relaxer

Lets discuss!

May I ask a question (purple). What are you doing now as an alternative to using heat? Rollersetting?

Interesting thread. I will be natural until the end of the year, but I think I will go bac to relaxing next year. I am glad to hear some success stories.

I dont rollerset alot. Its too much work. To get my hair straight, I airdry in a bun and usually my hair is pretty straight afterwards. If I want loose curls, I'll do 3 large bantu knots or dry rollerset with sponge rollers.
