how do are you brewing your powders into teas? and could i make it like you make coffee in a coffee pot?
tia

I think someone uses a coffee-pot, I use pantyhose. Suspend it over a pitcher, put the herbs in the toe, pour boiling water over it, let sit til dark/cool.

I use a mason jar- stretch pantyhose over the top and pour from my measuring cup- which is huge- 5 cup capacity into the mason jar to filter the little particles out.

I just add hot water and stir it up. Then I put an old knee high over the top of the cup and pour thru there onto my head.

PLUS... I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION!

HOW MANY RINSES DO YOU GET PER 100 g BOX OF YOUR POWDERS?

DLewis once mentioned using a 4 cup coffee maker. I bought one and it is the PERFECT thing for making my amla rinse. I run the filter three time so I can get all the goodness and I have a plastic jug that I fill up to the brim. No mess this way.

100 grams = 3.5oz

1oz = 2 TBSP

1/2oz= 1TBSP or 3tsp

So you should be able to calculate from there according to how much you use in your 'brew'! HTH!

This is a great idea. Like a tea bag :lachen:.

I just got my powders yesterday and I am going to start using tomorrow. Thank you for the tip.

I was using a coffee filter to strain my powders, but that didn't turn out too well. So I ordered some cheesecloth to help filter them, hopefull that will do better. I'm scared to use my coffee pot to brew the herbs. I keep thinking about that residue getting stuck in my coffee maker:perplexed

I've been using the tea bags that AKA-Tude sent me from Japan. They work great.

I use to use the cofee pot and that worked better but it stunk up the house and I had people complaining.:perplexed

ummm okay thanks everyone off to find a pantyhose

Hey Mia! I simmer my herbs in a crockpot. I bought a 2 quart one ($8) just for making the teas. After it has simmered for several hours, I let it cool then pour it in a large glass bottle and leave in the fridge overnight. All of the particles clump and stick to the bottom of the bottle. I just pour off the clear tea that's on top through a funnel into a spray bottle. I had to figure out a way to get out of all that straining and stuff.....leave it to the lazy folks!:lachen:

I mix all my powders in a cup first. Than pour that in to my 4 cup coffee maker with filter. And than i brew it. Thats all I use a empty suave poo bottle and fill it after the tea has cooled.

I let all the water filter out first before removing.
