I finally flatironed my hair and did a very good job, but now i'd like to add a litle curl. Can that be done with the flatiron or would I have to roll it. I'd prefer not to roll it, by the was my hair is beween sl and apl. Thanks in advance

hey yella!
these ladies gave u great suggestions
if u use the flexirods or bantu knots just make sure u set them large
otherwise u have all the answers u need! :yep:
good luck!

bantu knots will give you a wave

I agree with this. Bantu knots on dry hair will give loose, uniform waves (as opposed to bantu knots on wet hair which would give a tighter curl). Braids might also work, but in my experiences, unless your hair is totally blunt, you will get waves that taper out towards the ends...

How much curl do you want? I've been able to curl my hair with my flat iron. It's all in the wrist. My sister can even do spirals with the flat iron, but I'm not that advanced with it. :lachen:

I add curl with my flat iron ... just a flip of the wrist. Then I pin curl it or use satin-covered rollers to set it.

You can use a flatiron to roll it. I used to use my Solia to give me a bump at the end when I flat ironed my entire end. I also used my Solia to do loose curls. It works just as well as a curling iron, if not better, b/c no snagging.

you can use the flat iro to curl it. Like everyone said, just flip your wrist at the ends. If you want the curls to last, you can put some rollers on the ends at night.

I'd agree with pincurling as well. Another thought would be to twist it into a bun on the top of your head at night, that always brings more of a curl to the ends for me.

Yes, me too. I do all the curls I want and spirals too using my narrow cheap-o conair flat iron.

If you have a wider flatiron I don't think you can achieve sprials but you can definately bump it real aggressively to get a curl.

But since you've already pressed it I agree with the other ladies. put a few mig plaits or big twists in your hair or a few big flexirods and you'll have a nice light wave.

Here's a link to my fotki page where I do pincurl and bantu knot styles to achieve a look similar to what you are looking for. It's not so much of a tutorial, but I still hope it helps! :yep:

OT: Just wanted to say that your sig shows AMAZING progress. :dizzy: WTG!!

I agree with the bantu set for the soft waves. You could also try a couple of big, loose cornrows for a similar effect if you have trouble with the bantu knots.

Thanks Morenita! I'm just trying to catch up to you

What type of flat iron are you using? I have a Sedu flat iron, and I'm able to curl the ends of my hair with mine. It can create some cute curls.
