First Post: Can't Decide

Hi ladies, this is my first post here. I can't decide whether to go natural (for the 3rd time) or to continue to relax. I'm at the point where I either retouch or just let it go. I'm seriously on the fence though. I have two small girls (biracial) with hair that is curly on one and wavy on the youngest - gorgeous hair both. So I lean somewhat towards going natural so that they will know that their hair is beautiful regardless, but...I need ease, because I have to run after them and it's easy to slap it up in a pony when it's relaxed. Ugggh. Can someone help me decide?

It could definitely use a re-set though. It feels dry and fried. The Postpartum shedding finally stopped about a month ago (DD2 is 10mos) so it's either continue or not.

Gosh, ramble, but please weigh in. Thank you.

Only you can make that decision. You're the one that has to deal with it not us. So do what is best for yourself and what you can deal with.
Eta-It it feels dry and fried put some moisture in it.

Well I find that my natural hair is much easier, just a lot more combing..and conditioner:lachen: Oooh it was such a breeze when i first BCed(2in of hair) all i had to do is wet my hair, put a little bit of conditioner, rinse & go:giveup:
Once you get a hang of your natural hair, its a breeze...same thing with relaxed hair rly.

If you're on the fence, continue to stretch (with lots of moisture!). Check out the transitioners support threads (there are 2 for 2010, I believe), and the relaxed support thread. Weigh your options. See how much maintenance each requires, how that fits into your lifestyle, and go from there.

Just wanted to say, straight relaxed hair can be made to look wavy or curly (braidouts, bantu knot-outs, curlformers) so that it kinda resembles your daughters'. So why not do what CurlTalk suggests and stretch while you get a feel for your natural hair, and use these styles to kinda look like your daughters.

Thanks everyone. I particularly like this comment.:yep:

I went ahead and relaxed it today. Now, I'll just trim the ends and go from there. If I don't like it, I can always change it at some point.

Thanks again.

I am 2 months post BC, still can't get the hang of it ;(. so I keep it in braids. Can't wait for it to grow...

btw,

I'm drooling over your AVI PIC:lick:

Nevermind. I just saw that you already made your decision. :)

I'm a hair schizophrenic so it could change next month.

Honestly, I didn't really give it as much thought before until I had my girls. I just want them to know that they are beautiful and anticipate them asking why I straighten my hair if they can't do it. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I regret going back to the relaxer a year ago though.
