First Color Job - Doing it myself....ANY TIPS?

I just went out and bought Bigen Permanant Hair Powder Color in Oriental Black. I want a change so it was either a cut or a color. Last time I permed my hair was just about 3 weeks ago, so I think its okay. My mother and aunts all use this product (hair types range from 3a to 4b) so I'm guessing it will be okay?

Any tips on self-coloring though? Should I go back and by the coloring kit (with the brush and etc...)

I love Bigen...I use the Oriental Black and Blue Black....its very gentle...

Just make sure you are committed to black hair!

bigen does have wonderful results!!! i used the black but i heard dries ur hair out and after i felt a lil of the impact so b sure to deep condition after u color

Pretty easy to dye your hair darker-just make sure you aren't going to be wanting lighter color down the line-cause you won't be able to w/o making some drastic changes!!

Been there-done that! But Bigen produces beautiful color and it doesn't fade.

BIGEN HAS SKY HIGH LEVELS OF PPD! I have used Bigen and Clairol.

Bigen gave me awful, matte black hair and dried it out and had to eventually be CUT OUT.

Clairol gave me gorgeous, jaw dropping shine, soft hair, and blinging dark color that allowed for natural coffee highlights in the sun. And it LASTS.

Yeah I used the same color - i'm pretty much in love with my hair. I DC'ed after I washed it out because I didn't even want to play around with it drying my already dry 4b hair, but it colored quite well.

I would recommend washing your hair a bit more cause it gives off a funny, 'hair salon' smell according to my SO. Its been 3 weeks and I just LOVE it. Looks healthier and shinier too
