Ladies,
Many of you know that I have had some reservations about wearing my hair out in church. Being married to a Minister in a baptist church there is a certain "look" that goes along with being a prechers wife for instance long dresses, head covered, sleek hair loose or tied in a bun...not saying that there is anything wrong with that.. It's just not me, and I have to be who God called me to be, so HERE I AM!!!!

Love the look! Some might not be able to get with it, because some are conservative and just don't like natural hair, but you wear it well, and I would not have you looking like a clown in the Lord's house! LOL! The hair, makeup, and accessories are on point, I think they might fight you more concerning the dress length, even with opaque tights! Otherwise, looks good!

You look beautiful! I think that it is wonderful that you are not afraid to represent for the natural ladies in church. Don't be suprised if you see more TWAs or naturals poppin up amonst the congregation.

Girl, don't sweat the 'preachers wife image protocol'. That's a man/woman made image. You may be able to reach people the typical preacher's wives wouldn't for being authentically you. God made you unique so BE that and be fabulous!

The thing that bothers me the most about my preacher's wife is that she's gotten dowdy and plain. I knew her before they got married (long story) and she was elegant and sharp and just a model of a beautiful woman.

Okay so now she's 55+ and she's overweight? So? That doesn't mean you have to be dowdy and frumpy.

I don't know. I just find it disturbing. The biggest thing is that I know that's not her. She was vibrant. I remember her first husband (long story) said he married her because he loved "tall, striking blondes."

Now she's Ms. Frumpy.

Please just be yourself. That's what the congregation wants. Be Vibrant.

My aunt was married to a pastor and she was more earthy than most would've liked but she was kind. It took a while but they got used to her and loved her because of her personality. Just be yourself, you look great and I'll tell you what my mom always told me aunt. Just be true to you and that is being true to God, sooner or later everyone will see the light or die off. ;)

I think you look fabulous.

Anybody overly concerned with what you look like ('as the preacher's wife') is attending service for the wrong reason.

Represent who YOU are to the fullest. Giving in to somebody else's standard of your image (that is contrary to what you believe) is just not acceptable - I don't care what setting it is!

I think you look gorgeous. Your hair and that outfit is too fly!!

ITA with others have posted. DO YOU!! They need to remember that you are a woman that just happens to be married to the pastor. If you are carrying yourself as a woman and are active in your church then that's all that matters. People need to stop putting you and other pastors/pastors' wives on pedastals that they don't belong on. The Lord/Jesus are the only ones who deserve that place.

I was just thinking about posting a thread regarding this subject

I know you are not suppose to be "Worldly" or imitate 'Worldly people" but do you think how you styleyour hair is what God was talking about?

About a month ago I was trying to share hairstyles with my mom and she thought they were too "Worldly" :perplexed.

I think you look fabulous :yep:

Girl please! You look GREAT! You're very stylish from head to toe.

I grew up Pentecostal & when I visit my old home church, I am so glad to see that some of those old church "rules" are nonexistent. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw women wearing slacks to church. When I grew up it was dresses, way past your knees.

Love the fact that you are the pastors wife and natural. Talk about embracing what God gave you...

I have never seen "higher" ups in the church without a relaxer, weave or gelled up and sprayed to the max.

You go girl.
