Hello Everyone! Just wanted to share the great news! I finally broke down and purchased a hair steamer. Had to do a little research from past posts in regards to a supplier.

I purchased it in New York on Tuesday and its great. I couldn't wait to get home and set it up (which was really easy to do) and pull out all my condiitoners and wash my hair. I am hoping with continued and proper use I will definitely see a great improvement in the health and growth of my hair.

I have a question though for anyone who is familiar with steam conditioning: How often can it be used and what conditioners work best with it (protein?).

Congrats on your new steamer Pepperanne

Hey yall...so far it seems to be working out great. Last night was my first time using and but being that I am having some plumbing issues at this time, I can't wash out the remainder of the conditioner.

I am with you DSD, I had that on my wish list for the longest while but being that I changed jobs and will be going to Midtown and will be missing out on the convenience of my beauty supply stores and the location of my beauticians after work so I decided to break down and buy one for myself (especially being that a lot of salons dont have it in their shops).

I really can't wait to use it on my daughters hair which is natural and very thick but dry. I am hoping that will alleviate some of her dry scalp issues.

I should be receiving mine today via UPS

. I've been wanting want one also. This should really get me thru the winter. For my steam conditioning, I'll be using a combination of olive oil, jojoba, and essential oils

Congratulations on your purchase! I haven't purchased one myself yet but when I was getting my hair steamed my favorite was when I did a LUST and Moisturfuse (old formulation) treatment. I was getting it done weekly for at least a month but I think if I purchase one I will limit my use to maybe 1 time a month so not to over do it.
Long term usage.

Please let me know how that turns out. I read about doing it and sounds wonderful. Will you be doing that before or after you shampoo?

What are the benefits of steamers? I had one used on my hair once at a salon but I didn't know you could get one for home use. Are they expensive and where do you buy them from? What are the benefits, do they condition better?

I got it from BEAUTY BEAUTY INC. located on Canal Street in NY (2nd Floor - but my model had to be picked up from the warehouse in Brooklyn).

It was about 291 and its a nice size and has a setting of low medium and high and it really gets hot!

I belive that company also has a website as well. I purchased model SY307( or 304).
