FHI Flatiron results(pics inside)

Ok, I got the FHI platform about 3 days ago for my birthday and I decided to give it a try today. The weather in Atlanta was pretty misty and humid today, so it frizzed up a bit afterwards, but overall I like the iron a lot. Next time, I'm going to do my usual brush-chase method and I'm going to use less products. It's kind of hard to say whether or not I like it better than the Corilioss, Chi, or Sedu, but I did notice that my hair was straight after one swipe(Although I went through multiple times :look:)...unlike with the others. Here are the pics.

Looks great and thanks for posting pictures this is the flat iron that I am looking to buy once I can afford it. lol. What's your hair type?

Great job! Did you roll the ends or did you do the curls with the FHI?

I know exactly what you mean about the weather. I was planning to straighten but didnt because it's been so humid and misty.

Thanks! I curled it with the FHI iron.

The weather was horrible. I picked one of the worst days to flat-iron my hair. It's soooo poofy now.

Thanks so much for sharing! :yep: You did a great job and your hair looks lovely. It's so encouraging to see women with 4-type hair get such nice results with just a flat iron. :yep:

Wonderful Results :grin::grin::grin::grin:

I am going to see how my hair look with the CHI I just purchased a couple of days ago. I will be relaxing within a few days so I will be the judge then.

You did a nice job! What temp did you use to flat iron? Also did you use the hot sauce with yours?

Thanks again everyone!

I used it on 370:look:. My hair can take ALOT of heat. I was tempted to turn it up to the highest setting, but I decided not to. Oh, and I didn't use the hot sauce. I don't have any, but I need to get something good for the next time I flatiron. I used a little of my old Sedu heat protectant and that worked just alright.

The night before, when i washed it, i put some Loreal serum, olive oil, and a little cocunut oil on the ends...and yesterday i put the Sedu protectant on before flatironing. I think that was too much stuff on my hair.

Very pretty Inana04. Good results. Thanks for sharing.

So did you like this iron better than Sedu? (I ordered the Sedu, but it hasn't arrived yet).

I always thought the Sedu was better for relaxed hair....but I did get similar results with the Sedu when I used the brush-chase method. I guess the thing that I like better about this one is that my hair was straight on one pass.

But my sister is relaxed and the Sedu worked better than the FHI on her hair imo.

I guess since my hair is pretty thick and can take a lot of heat, the lighter plates like the ones on FHI and Sedu doesn't work as good on my hair as the thicker ceramic plates on CHI and Corilious(sp?). This is just something with my hair though.

Then maybe it's just me switching up products and techniques each time...making it harder to compare. idk. Here is the thread 3 months ago when i flatironed with the Corilious(sp?):

I'd posted another pic on the 3rd page.

Thanks. Your hair looks really nice, I was attempting to use it all the way up to 450 degrees whenever I flat iron, but if you can get it this straight at 370 with your pretty natural hair then I won't do that:nono:. I don't want to end up bald:lachen: since I'm already relaxed. I know whenever I get my hair done at the salon they only use some heat protectant, a teeny tiny bit. I never think it's enough but when they are done my hair has that swang for days! I think less maybe more so I'll try not to be heavy handed when I use mine.

Yeah, I wouldn't turn it up that high if I was relaxed at all. I'd say maybe for relaxed hair the temp should be probably no higher than 300. I flatironed my sis hair at 370(she's relaxed) and I think that was too high.

Yeah. The last time my hair had swing was when I used setting lotion, and a little bit of serum while soaking wet. I guess that's the way to do it if you want body.
