Everything\'s A Leave-In!

You know how when a child first learns to do something, they do it over and over and over...just because they can. Well, some of you guys(mostly Allandra) have taught me that a dollop of most any conditioner can be used as a leave-in. So, today I used my Deep Brilliance Moisture Shine Treatment as a leave-in (it doesn't work that well for me as a rinse-out) and let me tell you how moisturized it left my hair! It feeeeeels SO good.

I'm happy since I invested in 32oz. of this stuff before I realized it didn't work for me as a rinse-out.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Im glad this worked for u Supergirl! You're hair stays beautiful!

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I agree 100%. Conditioners have always been my moisturizers of choice after s-curl and I've used all I have.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Becasue of you Im using that Suave as Milk n Honey as a leave in. My hair felt amazing. This is a good thing because I wont have to panic If I happen to run out of a cream moisturizer while im at my "predominantly white college" next semester

The Suave will be my back up.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I used to do this with Pantene...I have to try it again with some of my new conditioners...

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

i never did that before. i'm going to try it with my suave milk and honey and see if it works for me. i hope that it does because I love cheap hair products.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I'll have to try this!! Now I won't have rush out to buy a leave in conditioner!

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I will try my suave milk & honey as a leave in with my next wash learning something new everyday on LHCF.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Yeah - Allandra got a lit of us into this habit...

I use my Kenra MC (I LOVE this), Suave, Pantene, Nacidit, anything I use to moisturize, as a leave in. The only ones I don't use are protein based ones.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Wow, I was clueless on this, but great information. I'll have to try it out...thanks!

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

SG, thank you for posting this, because I do this but was afraid to admit it. It's kind of rebel-ish. I had no idea that Allandra "okay'd" this before. I don't buy leave-ins any longer, just using up what I have.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Mmm ... you're making me a believer in plain old conditioner, SuperGirl!

I haven't tried it, but I won't hesitate to do so in a bind.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I been using the VO5 Oasis cond. and I wasn't too thrilled, it didn't give me any more slip than anything else..........but then I put it on the permed part of my hair after airdrying because they have been shedding sooo much lately........and can I just proclaim to the world that I HAVE FOUND MY NEW MOISTURIZER!

The shedding has slowed down drastically in just 3 days!(sorry I sound like a commercial

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Is everyone using it for a CO wash, and then putting in the dollop as a leave-in? Or are you just getting the hair damp and then putting it in?

either or

i prefer the co wash, let air dry to damp, and then applying the conditioner.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Hmmm, this is something interesting to look into. This will also be a good way to keep my hair smelling good like Milk & Honey after I wash it.

So do I! It's great.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

I can't believe it took me forever to use Suave Awapuhi as a leave-in when it even says so on the bottle! This product has been a huge part of why my hair is so much easier to detangle now - wait a minute...I don't even have to detangle anymore!

I also like LUST as a leave-in but use it sparingly b/c of the cones.

Re: Everything\'s A Leave-In!

Thanks supergirl for starting this thread , i am going to do this cos i have a lot of conditioners to use up.
