I was looking through the monthly pictures and my husband came up behind me and was shock when he seen all the women with long hair and he wanted me to ask.
So as you can see he really can't wait for my hair to be long. So ladies hit me.
I have a long way to go before I reach my goal, but my husband wanted me to ask everyone with shoulder length or longer how long did it take to achieve. He wants a general idea of how long he has to wait to see me with this length.
since I started my regimen last March...and my hair was just above my ears...and I reached shoulder length (in the back, my hair is in lots of layers)this July. So...that's a year and 4 months to be exact.
It shouldn't take you that long to grow your hair with care and patience. I cut my right to my shoulders in 2001 and NOW my hair is passed my bra-strap!
Leejure, I saw someone on the train the other night with your exact hair and everything, I kid you now! I started to tap her and go, "Ummm....Are you Leejure from LHCF?"
Thank you ladies for all your reponses. I told my husband that it'll be at least a year or more before I see shoulder length and he said I guess I can wait that long
He's soooo crazy I told him unless he wanted me to get another weave he just has to wait, he said ok.

I would say 1.5 years. I don't consider my hair shoulder length right now because only the back is touching my shoulders. I like for crown and bangs to touch my shoulders. That's true shoulder length to me.
What is the average length (in inches) for shoulder length hair? Would you guys say about 12 inches from the top of the head or 6 inches from the nape area?

I'd say 12" from the top of the head. I say that because the back is going to touch the shoulders first since it's so close to the shoulders anyway. That doesn't make the hair shoulder length.
Umm, I think my hair has been past shoulder length since I was about 3 or 4. It's never been shorter than that, so I have no idea how long it takes to grow hair as an adult though like the ladies here who set goals and achieve them.
You know what? I do remember a time when my mom cut my hair to shoulder length. It just took a few months to start inching down my back.

Depending on your regime and with the vitamins I see you're taking, it may take less time for you to have long hair. I think the fun is in the process and knowing your hair looks good and is healthy.
One time, I had my hair cut to a little under earlength. It grew back to past my shoulders in 6 months.

Same here, I let a Halle Berry like cut grow out and it took maybe 9 months to reach a little past shoulder length. It was also at that time I discovered that Wanakee hand book back in 1997 and was able to grow my hair to bra strap length. Then I fell off with the hair care thing and my brastrap length got all scraggly and see through. It remained that way for a few years until I discovered this board and started to care again about my hair. I really love this board
