Sooo many successful, career and education driven women on this board. I love it...working in Behavioral and Clinical Research (Colorectal Cancer, Diabetes and Breast Cancer)...hopefully going to med school fall 2011!!! Keep your fingers crossed ladies!!!! Got on this board because I wanted to become fully in charge of my haircare and health! Keep it coming ladies!

Administrator Here. I develop and administer a Small Business Development Program.:yep:

Some recruiting, some contract administration/neogtiations, more political than anything else.:look: I work in Quasi-Government.

I'm 25 years old , have a Business Marketing degree. However, I work in the Finance industry.

I have an AAS in Engineering Tech., a Bach. of Engineering (civil) and 3/4 of an MBA. I'm in charge of several multi-million $ government contracts. And guess what? My mother lives with me and I do her hair. Now don't get me wrong - sometimes living with her makes me feel imbalanced ;-), but I think I'm hanging in there.

I'm a stay at home mom and currently an unbalanced college student
former business owner, former graphics designer, former unbalanced college student in the 90's to
I have come full circle LOL

and i hope to God all the silly unbalanced college girls on this site can help hook a sista up LOL

bump. im a balanced college student majoring in engineering. My mom hasnt had control over my hair in a looong time

I am a college student for nursing, go to work fulltime and go to my religious activities fulltime, busy, busy!

I'm a physician as well! I 've wanted good hair all my life. Why would a grown-up woman be satisfied with jacked up hair! I want long. strong and beautiful! And I get hair compliments everyday at work! ;)

I'm kind of peeved that just because I'm a college student that I have to be imbalanced. Us, "imbalanced" college students, will be the next generation to take over so I guess she better move out the country soon. :look:

Although I don't go to college (I work from home.) I agree w/ Miryoku^ college aged doesn't make us 'imbalanced'. I feel like ALL women desire healthy hair (no matter what the length) but we all find the resources/answers(thru forums/youtube etc.) at different times.

lmao it was such a stupid comment. They might have just been tryna be funny.

I am out of college. I graduated about 3 years ago. I'm a facilitator for a Department of Mental Health program.

I am a 25 year old graduate student--I have a B.A. in Journalism (never actually worked in the field), and am working on a M.S. in Higher Education Admin/Academic Advising/Adult Continuing Ed...

Found this site when I was trying to figure out ways to do my own hair after becoming frustrated with salons....after being a member here for about 7 months or so, I decided to transition to natural...end of story..

ETA: Whoops, and I work 40 hrs/week at a University as an undergrad program asst.

It would be pretty sad if only imbalanced college girls took pride in how their hair looked. So what, everybody else should be satisfied with looking busted to show their maturity and 'balanced-ness'?

slightly imbalanced lol
Graduated undergrad in December and will be returning to school in september to begin my doctorate in naturopathic medicine to become a Doctor and possibly also a chiropractic one as well

Wow...interesting...I didn't vote because my profession wasn't up...I work in education- school counselor...working on my Ph.D in Counseling Studies. When I joined in 2005, I was a high school teacher one year out of grad school...

ABA Therapist, 35, Mom, Teenagers, and I just want to keep hair on my head, I have always had decent hair but if I have the chance to make it better then so be it, that is why I am here, Learning New things & Techniques! (maybe that is why i have been in a twa stage for 6 years) trying both sides Relaxed & Natural LOL!

i'm a professional classical musician.

i joined lhcf in january of this year after having found that this web site came up on every internet search i clicked.

i stayed here because, living and working in milan, italy does not offer as many options for "our hair" as i would like, so this site has taught me how to take good care of my hair myself.

i only WISH i could have known about something like this web site in high school or college!

i started growing my hair because it is easier to have my hair pulled back for performances when i'm working and rehearsing, so i needed to grow some hair to pull back.

lhcf has not only helped me to accomplish this, but also given me the vision of having hair longer than i ever believed possible for this african american!

WL, here i come!

B.S. in Health Science concentration in Environmental Health but currently working as Civil Engineering Technician (Seriously thinking about going back to school to becoming a Civil Engineer) and I believe I'm balanced twenty something year old who wants nice hair. My mother hasn't done my hair college (relaxer only) all styling done by me since middle school.

OP's coworker might have been looking at a different board where mommy bashing was an ongoing theme - at least it was last I looked several years ago. Some would even get their hackles up if someone around the age group of their mama commented on something they said. I didn't feel that it was a good environment so I stopped going there. It's so much more inclusive here - and that's why I like it :).

i have minimal college education (actually i have a lot but no degree due to i kept changing my major lmfao). i'm a bit unbalanced lol but i work at a high profile call center in as management with one of the top credit card companies in america. i've dealt with high rollers, celebrities as well as communicate and deal with the big wigs of the corporation on an almost daily basis. so i'm doing pretty good and continuing to work my way up the corporate later.

so i'm an unbalanced, non-college student who works in a professional setting. have saved my company $20k in the last 3 months, and known by name by big wigs in other states.

nope, mo doesnt fit op's friends statistic lol

eta:oh and right out of hs i joined the army :) (not in any more) and was an intelligence analysis

and i dont type or spell well :D lol

Checking in: 35 years old, full-time freelance administrative/marketing professional, cosmetology student (starting next week... I'm So Excited!!!) and Painter.

Never finished college - I had no cash and additional student loan options were... less than appealing. I remembered my Mom struggling to pay back her student loans when I was in HS. After 3 years in a private college I got a full-time job offer that I couldn't refuse. Worked my **s off. And then I got screwed. I tried 2 community colleges, hated it, then went back to focusing on paying off student loans. After paying them off I realized too little too late that I should have pushed through. That's my story in a nutshell.

My Mom hasn't done my hair since I was 12. I came to LHCF because I got too dependent on weaves, wigs etc. And now I'm faux hair free.

I'm a mom of 3 kids, a wife, a full-time college student (undergrad; going to law school in 2011) and up until a year ago I worked full-time in the social services field. I'm 31 years young. My mom has not personally styled my hair since I was 9 years old. :ohwell:

The excuses naysayers come up with never cease to amaze me
:nono:
