EVER thought about making your OWN products?

I love the different results and raves about products on the market but sometimes I'm really skeptical. Especially with "black" marketed "GrowUrHairIn10DaysORMONEYBACK" type products. I was reading the All About Oils page at ww.motowngirl.com a while ago and was shocked at the different levels of oils sold on the market (Pure, Natural, Complete, and Grade A). You only have to have so much of a percent of Genuine ingredients in a bottle to label it Pure. Like some hair products might say "Moisturizing Shampoo with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E." In reality, this shampoo might have a SPIT of these ingredients (probably some so little that they aren't affective) to have this label. Right now I'm looking for Cosmetic Making/Soap Making, etc classes in Chicago (so if you know of any feel free to lemme know!) Anyone here ever thought about making your own products (not just for hair but for skin and cosmetics, too?) Just wondering

i remember when i first went natural and i just wanted EVERYTHING natural. alllll natural ingredients and i pretty much would have to make my products for that, but i was lacking the funds and the knowledge. If I had the dough i think i would make my own products

Somethings I think are a tad bit too advanced for me -- but most things (moisturizers, pre-treatments, rinses, even conditioners) are easy to make. You just have to know the properties of the natural ingredients. You can search on amazon for helpful books on making your own stuff.

I have but not by hand in my kitchen. I went to a lab and gave them the ingredients. i got tired of products I liked changing the formula and getting discontinued.

My website is www.kinky-curly.com

The spritz is a gel and the jojoba jelly is a moisturizer and they are all natural. The pomade is made with vegetable petroleum and natural oils.
I will have to change the name of the Spiral Spritz b/c several customers have complained about the nozzle getting clogged so I will package it in a squirt type bottle but I dont really like the name Spiral Squirt! Sounds gross!

Yeah I want to make my own products and sell them when I get the money. So far I have made some cream for the skin and hair.

I've finally come up with a mixture that works well in my hair. I use to manage my new growth and keep my ends healthy. I love mixing things up in the kitchen ... I could do it all day actually.

I am learning to make my own shampoo bar.

I had one custom made and the company that did it had horrible customer service.

I started researching how to make soap because the custom bar was HEAVENLY. I was scared I was going to run out and not have another supplier!

The company has since made changes for the better but I still want to learn how to make it.
