I got my products yesterday: Premier Cream Rinse, Avocado Mist, and the Rebuilder.

I washed my hair and used the Rebuilder. I left it in for five minutes like the directions said. My hair went from feeling soft and silky to feeling rough just a couple of minutes after I put it on. I used the cream rinse afterward and I used the Avocado Mist last and put a little vatika oil in my hair. It ended up soft, but not as soft as usual.

Are you ladies deep conditioning after you use the Rebuilder? I'm not sure if I should've waited awhile since I did a henna treatment last week or if it will always make my hair feel that rough. Please let me know how you use the Rebuilder and how often you use it.

Thanks! :)

Personal experience:

My hair doesn't like the Henna AND the Rebuilder. Which is sad because I love both of them dearly so I choose. When I don't use one, I use the other. For example: If I henna this week, I won't use the Rebuilder for at least one week, more like two because it just seems to be to much fo rmy hair. The opposite of that also applies. When I henna regularly, I don't need the Rebuilder, I rely on something with less protein and more moisturizing properties. Funny you should mention this because I did this same scenario as you this week, with exactly the same result (like I didn't know better from past experience).

I've never used the rinse so I can't comment.

How often do you use henna? If it's frequently, you may want to avoid using the Rebuilder for a while or create a regimen where you switch them up. They're both awesome products but for my hair, when used together, it creates over proteined/brittle hair.

I haven't used henna since October, but I want to start using it around once a month. Last week I left the henna in overnight and I conditioned my hair very well after the treatment. I mixed Alter Ego Garlic treatment with Loreal Vive Pro ( I love this stuff) and I left that in for at least an hour. My hair felt great when I was done, so I figured I might have to deep condition after using the Rebuilder as well.

I'll use up the Rebuilder and then start the henna again. Or maybe I'll save it and trade it at the DC LHCF meeting.

I've used the Rebuilder in the past, but as a leave in. It could be that you are using too many products with protein. Remember too much protein can be drying.

I always use a moisturizing deep conditioner after the rebuilder and I use the rebuilder every other week i leave the rebuilder on for 15-20 min with plastic cap under dryer....I never have stiff or rough hair doing this but i did have stuff/rough hair using rebulider as a leave-in..... I wouldnt use rebuilder the same time as henna or cassia i think thats strength over load...

REBUILDER does leave me kinda rough when used as a leave-in; never used it as a conditioner pre-poo..may try it then deep moisture. I am into the Avocado Mist these days, great moisturizer.

I just tried the rebuilder and it left my hair soft. I let it air dry and it felt really good.

I left it on for 10 min and washed it out and I didn't put anything esle in my hair, I just wanted to see how it would feel.

So far I like it, so I'll order the avocado mist.

:yay: :woot: :weird:

I recently gave the Avocado Mist a try again...I like not sure if I'll repurchase but since I'm using lighter moisturizers now, this is a very good choice. It's got more weight than the Dove Moisture Mist (and the ingredients are pronouncable).
