EFA\'s

I don't really get many responses for these post although i know its many of you who take them. I read that you need more Omega 3 than Omega 6. So i was considering taking flax again. I took it before but nothing really happen. It was a spring valley brand. How much do i need and what brand is the best.

Re: EFA\'s

Spectrum makes really good EFA's. You can get them at the Vitamin Shop. Flax oil and EPO are very good. Borage oil is another you may want to consider. Or you could possibly get a combo of 2 or 3 of these. Either way, you can't go wrong. 1,000mg is a good dosage for EFA.s hth

Re: EFA\'s

I've been taking 1000 mg of Vitamin Shoppe Flax Seed Oil with good results. My new growth is softer and so is my skin.

Re: EFA\'s

i take flax seed oil softgels, 1000mg, but not very consistently...I haven't noticed anything special...I have the GNC brand.

Re: EFA\'s

You would probably receive better results with actual flax seeds instead of the capsules. I'll be getting some once I finish the oil I hve

Re: EFA\'s

Actually to attain silk, luster and shine, you need flaxseed OIL not the SEEDS. The ground seeds or meal are great for strength and maybe adding some bulk and strength to your hair.

To the original poster, I saw the pic in your signature which is really cool, but I wondered whether you weren't a male yourself. For some reason, I thought I remembered that. If I am wrong, disregard. If you are, you might want to read about flaxseed oil and men taking it. There are pros and cons, but just be well-informed.

If you are male, frankly I would suggest that you take black currant. It's one of the few EFAs which has both Omega 3 and Omega 6. I've suggested it to many guys and for some women who don't want to take EPO.

If your hair is without lustre and even brittle, 3000mg is in order at the very least for a month. You should notice a difference relatively fast too. Plus, take a moderate amount of a natural Vitamin E complex, 400mg and you should have some soft, lustrous locks.

For your information, the flaxseed oil at the Vitamin Shoppe is Spectrum brand which is excellent. The Vitamin Shoppe brand of black currant oil is Health From the Sun, some of the best on the planet. Feel confident in buying VS brand black currant seed oil.

I would also suggest that you add some walnut oil to your diet in salads. Walnut oil is an excellent source of Omega 3..it's delicious in a salad! It's very mild.

Hope this helped!

Re: EFA\'s

I was taking black currant oil for a period of time but i was only taking two 1000mg for about a month then i ran out and started taking two 500mg that my grandfather bought me and i didnt notice anything. But i will try that brand thank you Jade. Im a male by the way.

Re: EFA\'s

What's a vitamin e complex ms.jade? When i typed it in on vitamin shoppe it just listed vitamin e. When you say 400mg do you mean 400I.U.? because thats how much i was taking of spring valley vitamin e

Re: EFA\'s

Jade you recommended borage and black currant oil to me. I was wondering why you didnt recommend flaxseed oil for luster. Which is more important? The ALA in flax or GLA in borage? im confused.
