Ear Protection from Offensive Language... TV Guardian

I've always wanted a 'screener' for my TV to eliminate offensive language and sexual extremes. Too much nakedness is going on, naked language (unguarded words) and naked people which should not be in view.

I hope this works. It sounds like a good product. :yep: Does anyone here have a TV filter or have used one before?

Does / Did it work efficiently?

Thanks for sharing.

I need one.

That would filter nearly every TV programming, except news and Christian programs... oh no..take that back.. SOME news.

Sign of the times..wow

this is neat..thats why i dont watch Tv alot..its a filth. Even the news is defiled at times..the weather channel is the only pure thing, but then you got to worry about commericals.

I'm telling you, nothing's sacred. Even some of the weather spokes persons (the women) are dressed like it's a 'corner' bar. :drunk:

The news is just filled with blood and guts and all of the seven sins... or more.

I heard about this about 5 years ago or so but it was very expensive at the time. I would love one. I don't even bother with the program if its full of cursing and stuff and just evil people.

It's so unnecessary to have all of that 'language' in TV shows and movies. And it's the children who are taking it into their spirits and behaving so badly. :nono:

You never lied their! I went to extremes and dumped my television in the trash all together.........:ohwell: Just soooo much trash and we were constantly trying to turn the Chanel, because of the commercials on the okay shows. It got to the point the only good thing on their, if you can call it good, was the news.

If I had something like that I would not have gotten rid of it:nono:. I am NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO GET RID OF YOUR TV, but it was the only choice I feel I had and its been a year now and I am not missing that thing, neither are my kids. My kids actually have stronger relationships with the Lord and me too! My fam thinks im a nut for getting rid of it though. But I had to do what I had to do because I was sick of the kids and me being exposed to so much trash!

Hahahhahah! No it was more of me waiting until my teen went on holiday vacation at a family members, then convincing the then 6 year old that it was the devil and sneaking it out at the dead of night!!!:lachen:It was a shock but they got over it quick:lol: Again I KNOW MY SOLUTION IS NOT FOR EVERYONE :yep:

You did the right thing... BOLD and right :yep:

There comes a time when we 'all' have to cast the devil out of our lives... literally! I applaude you. :yep:

Indeed I do, cause I'm not there yet. :blush3:

I wish they had this technology when I was growing up because my Dad would sit on the side of me and block my eyes and ears with his hands when he thought I was encountering something that was inappropriate. This is the perfect present for my parents because mother rarely watches television because of the course language that they bombard us with on a daily bases.

I wish they had a similar 'filter' for the audience in movie theaters. I haven't been to a movie theater since the movie Home Alone 1, (Friday, October 19, 1990). Yes, I remember the exact day, date and year...

Even if the movie is not filled with smut language and content, I still will not go because of the 'pottie mouths' of those in the theater audience.

The foul language coming from the audience is ridiculous and you're surrounded by it, even if it's a 'Family' movie. I didn't pay to hear that mess around me. :nono::nono::nono:

I always wait for the DVD (in the 1990's it was the video tape) to come out. I can then enjoy a movie with my family and friends. :yep:

You'd think people would be respectful of the children that are in the movie theater, but they aren't. :nono: Sad shame the way people curse and carry on as if it's the only language they know.

Sorry for rant...

I've never heard cursing at the theater, that is a mess.

The profanity doesn't bother me as much and the nudity does. I'm good at filtering people out for the most part. But, I feel that nowadays they put nudity in a movie and it has nothing to do with the plot of the movie.

My parents and I went to the The American with George Colony. And the there was this five minute "love scene" and it was so graphic. Two people actually got up and left. I looked down at my lap until the scene was over.

Now on the non-cable stations (ABC, NBC, FOX) the language is gotten rather wild. They are saying words that you could only say on HBO and Showtime before. It's all confusing.

Oh yes, there are folks in the audience who respond with curse words; and that's because it's their 'everyday' language; they use curse words for everything they respond to. I can't stand it.

I so agree with you regarding the nudity and sex scenes which are so unnecessry. :nono:

My favorite movie genres are the Film Noir's, the old movies. There were no sex scenes or cursing. It wasn't necessary to show all of 'that'...

It's OK to rant.. but you know, I can filter out the audience at a movie theater...there will always be cussing folks everywhere, largely because I don't have control over other people and even though I don't like it, I've learned to tune them out. I always have the choice to get up and leave and forfeit the money spent. :yep: (God always gives us a way of escape..in this case..the EXIT. )
What I do have control over is what I choose to see or hear, so the movie itself is more dangerous to me than realizing I'm sitting among people cussing. :look:
If anyone has read 21 Days to Your Spiritual Makeover, it explains spiritual balance more adeptly than I can. (Click on the book to peep inside) It is about balance and control over what we allow into our spirits.

Alicialynn's spirit is alive... I used to loooooove to watch Criminal Minds. I had to stop. Just stop. Because I came to the realization that Satan will use our personalities, likes/dislike to get access. For example, I'm a curious person..not to be nosey but to always find a way to figure things out/get a solutions. Ergo, I love puzzles, who-done-its, a good trivia, etc. Those traits/skills aren't made for evil but could be. So the devil used what I enjoy to present to me Criminal Minds and Snapped!... but at what cost? I used to watch Criminal Minds religiously! I mean, I couldn't MISS a show...so there was an imbalance. It wasn't until I started getting bad dreams and my DH counseled me on this, that I realize I allowed this to seep into my subconsiousness. God promises us sweet sleep (Prov 3:24) and I believe that. I had to pray and rid my spirit of this and stop watching those kind of shows. The freedom from this type of bondage was evident and so real. I just don't watch them anymore. I also can't watch a show with cussing, I get vexation of spirit.

I believe spiritual makeover takes time..doesn't happen overnight; because for many of us, the Truth isn't Truth until it's realized.
