How far above the split end do you snip when you dust your ends or search for split ends to cut? I read something online that said to cut 1 inch above the split, but that seems excessive to me. What do you think?

1/2 inch to an inch just to make sure.

1 inch is a trim not dust. I dust by snippng only 1/4 of an inch all over.

I cut right above the split. I think as long as you get rid of the split you're ok.
