How are you maintaining your hair? What is helping to keep your hair strong and growing?

I am planning to lighten my hair in 2 weeks and I am already relaxed. I am looking for some tips to add to my regimen. My natural hair color is med brown but for the last few years I have been using Clairol Instincts in Dark brown that looks black on me, and the color is really aging me. I need to lighten it up for my 35th birthday.

Some what tips can you give me?

I color and relax my hair as well. I have been lighter and darker, now I use bigen. I use mango butter on my ends and either rollerset or airdry. I haven't used heat in over two months which has helped a ton. I use a protein source every other week and deep condition weekly.

ETA- I just incorporated a clarifying poo as well. Wanting and waiting to see if it has any affect on my color.

My hair, overall is very strong when I protein and moisture balance, but the colored ends are still noticeably more breakable.

But I have very fine hair.
