Hello! Has anyone ever used turmeric with henna to lighten your greys in your hair? I am trying to lighten my greys in my hair. I do not like the orange color henna gives my greys. If you have any tips, or suggestions feel free to chime in! PS I do not want to use commercial dyes! TIA!!!!!

Using anything with henna will insure that your hair ends up some variety of a shade of red.

I've heard of using straight honey and/or straight lemon juice to lighten hair, but never henna.

i use turmeric whenver i henna, and it doesn't lighten your hair one bit. it will, however, *slightly* alter the color deposit you get to a more golden tone.

henna doesn't lighten, BTW. if you're looking to lighten, try Clairol Luminize. it's what i use to lighten my hair to a light red color. :yep:

ETA: i just read you don't want to use commercial dyes. in that case, if you're trying to go 100% the natural route, i'd suggest lemon juice and sitting out in the sun. but it'll dry the mess out of your hair.
