Double Broiler

I take a pot and put some water in it and then put whatever container I am using to double broil inside the pot of water. Whatever I am broiling goes inside of the container in the pot of water. HTH

Put some water in a pot. Not too much (you don't want it to overflow or get in your jar--if you're using a short jar) Warm the water using medium-high heat. I don't think the water has to boil it just needs to get hot enough to melt what's in the jar. Put the jar in the water.

That's it.

My family makes candy and we use this method for melting the chocolate. Most of the time, rather than using a pot, we put a little water in an electric skillet and place the glass bowl in that. This frees up the stovetop.
 
Thank you both! I was a little confused. I didn't realize that you fill the pot with water...I was thinking the process involved steaming or something.
