Don't use Dr. Mircales!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

FYI - The founder, Brian Marks, is married to a black woman. She is actually the model on the relaxer box. I saw it in Hype Hair or Sophisticates - one of those black hair care magazines.

I do hate the ads, as well. They make those girls hair look a mess on purpose.

But, really, I use products by white owned companies all the time. That really does not bother me.

If we are so sensitive about this, how can we still be sensitive about things, like when JC Penney (or whoever) wanted to charge more to do black women's hair. Hair is hair. They should not charge us more and who care's if the products we use are owned by some who has a different texture hair!

Haircare is haircare.

HoneyDew it wasnt JC Penny it was Dillards. (I like JC Penny...I hope they wouldnt do anything like that)

And I think the whole purpose of that arguement was that the woman had a relaxer and her hair wasnt even "kinky" or textured. I think she was just going for a wash & set and they charged here more.

So me personally, I wouldnt purchase Dr.Miracle's products. I feel that they are negatively portraying black women and their hair as somethig that we should/do hate with their advertising tactics. BTW, I don't shop at Dillards either.

JC Penny, Dillard, whoever - My point is that on either end, hair care should not be such a racial issue.

I don't like the ads for Dr. Miracle's products either - BIG turn off.

And even the radio ads, have you guys heard that crap!!

Marketing can make/break sales and in this case their marketing is breaking it. I can never remember a time when I was ever interested in their products because of this.

But, I still would not base my decision to buy/no buy on the race of the company's founders.

well guys i think your forgetting the MODELS. without these silly ladies then dr miracles wouldn't have the ad! unless they painted them black..u know what i mean. people r willing to do it, so let them carry on. were nopt that stupid, we know black hair is nice however much they diss it. for us to be offended is like reacting to a slap in the dark. its not worth n r g! its the models that need targeting to and or black PEOPLE themselves!

The marketing strategy that's used with Dr. Miracles is the same as Garnier Fructis. Many here have raved about Garnier, despite the wild, frizzy haired models on the commercial so what's so bad about Dr. Miracle's tactic? I haven't used the Dr. Miracle's line, but I really believe that if the products were decent, folx would compromise and purchase them.

 you use the product?

well I guess it is your prerogative.

I just want to open peoples eyes to the ignorance that is out there.

I just can't support it.

Just wanted to point out that 90% of the hair care products we purchase are from white people- they are the ones profiting with their promises to give us long, lustrous hair.' Dr. Miracle's products are just more out there with their marketing, which I can understand will turn some off. They are just marketing what they SEE, just like Pantene Relaxed and Naturals line. They realized the potential profit to make their products attractive to both relaxed hair and now the latest popular 'trend', natural hair.
I have since minimized my purchase of these products that are geared toward us because I know it's not US who are profiting from them. They throw in a couple of herbs and the oh so popular shea butter and we come 'arunnin. I try to purchase hair products from these BLACK OWNED COMPANIES!!

I don't use fructis but, the difference for me is that the dr. miracle ads not only use frizzy hair models, but they don't have on ANY makeup, and are made to look as UGLY as they possibly can. Not only that, why aren't there more relaxed hair models sporting the messed up doos? Most of the one's I see are of natural haired women...why is that? I would think that since this is a relaxer then they would atleast use models with relaxed hair....I thought that is who it was made for.

I just saw a commercial for the first time on BET for Dr Miracles products. It was kinda funny, the one girls hair was all over her head and her dr miracles product started talking to her from the medicine cabinet. A white lady was the spokesperson for the commercial

i dont think the op was saying not to use the products because they are white owned just that we shouldnt patronize white owned companies that use racist and offensive marketing tactics.

love or hate carols daughter, oyin, qhemet, jane carter, asha etc., at least their marketing ads aren't insulting and encourage self hate.
