Ok ladies so I know I look busted but I REALLY need help. This is today and it's day three of a pretty good flat iron.

it was one of those you left the house looking ok but mid day you caught your reflection and you're busted days... help me I have to go to work tomorrow and I can't be busted... Videos would be great but at this point I"ll take ANYTHING. I"m thinking some kind of updo .... my hair was longer this morning:perplexed

nobody can help with reversion! mine would be worse!

I think the best suggestion your gonna get for flat ironing here is Sabino MB, I have yet to try it-but need to

but I would give up trying to wear flat ironed hair in winter months, so yeah the updo sounds like a good idea :yep:

But I need a style to do tonight... should I rewash it? My twist outs look busted (because of the stupid relaxed ends) I don't want to put any more heat on it for at least a couple of weeks....I was thinking that I could try some kind of up do but it's too short for anything my limited imagination can come up with.... I may have to end up rocking the head wrap again today but that just "puts a bandaid" on the situation... girls I don't know if I can do this transition at this length... I"m about to go to walmart and get me a perm..

I say give Sabino Moisture Block (SMB) a try. It's dream product for naturals and those that are transitioning (like me).

It shrunk... prob b/c it's been so moist the past couple of days here...

LOL you thought it broke off didn't you.... thank GOD it didn't b/c then I"d be crying. It's not that long to begin with
oh no, i thought you cut it out of frustration or something.

when i was transitioning i did dominican blowouts the first 9-10 months straight...i started probably shorter than where you are. i dont know how you feel about all that heat though. as a short term fix i would wear a scarf (i have a big black scarf i tied up on my head when it was half straight, half curly) or rewash and bun it if you can...long term i would suggest braids, or buying some SMB if you wanna keep at the straightening thing. don't relax it out of frustration!!!

Babydimple... thanks but I've tried those and I come out looking like I've got dreads (not cute ones either) thanks though.... I"m really thinking about going to get a relaxer tonight.... :ohwell: and maybe just leaving it on long enough to loosen the curl a little bit

Your hair looks really thick and healthy. The sheen is great too.

One thing that makes a difference for me is to remove the moisturizing product out of my hair before I straighten. If I am using glycerin and water and oil daily on my natural hair, I clarify to get that out. I will have a better press, one that gets straighter and holds longer, if I remove the moisturizing product. For me, I use two differnt kinds of moisturizing processes. I use wet, heavy stuff for my natural hair and light oil based stuff for my straightened hair.

Two strand twist your hair while damp then pincurl the twists. It should be dry in the morning then **carefully** take down the pincurls, unravel the "curly twists", plop with your fingers. Your hair WILL be really curly. No heat involved.

Have you thought of using the scarf method with a good leave in conditioner by tying it down for a few hours? You can then bun it. That usually comes out right for me. IN fact, thats my daily when I'm no-heating
