This is a light-hearted thread for us to post pics of our hair when u weren't on a HHJ. Use this as a reminder of how far you've come and chafes you've made. Sometimes I feel like my hair isn't growing then I look at old pics and remember!

My hair was a broken off damaged mess. It broke off if you just looked at it and my fool self was relaxing every 4 weeks because that's what a stylist told me to do.

When you know better, you do better.

Ooh…I'm almost embarrassed to put this pic up!

Breakage everywhere. This was when my hair and skin was at an all time low. I came a LONG way!

My hair seemed more moisturized before I started worrying about it.
GThis is probably as damaged as my hair was after I found a new stylist who straightened my hair pin distraught, and I liked that because You could see how long it was(BSL) as opposed to when it looked neck length after a roller set. Then I wanted to be edgy and cut it into a bob myself (picture) and began to hot comb it. I was 4-5 months into a transition here.

When will I learn my hair hates direct heat? sigh

Oh  excuse my ratcheness lol

This is the day sew-in's became my worst enemy and a month later started my hair journey.

I had the type of relaxed hair that could 'hide' extreme damage with a touch up and blow out but it was a mess.

After I took this picture I had to cut off a good chunk of my ends due to over processing (had multiple blonde dye jobs, relaxing, etc all at the same time) to the point where it was neck length. It would not go past neck length for two years until I went natural.

Now at almost 11 months since big chopping and starting my HHJ (with multiple set backs) I've retained 7 inches of length!

Here's a pic of my hair back in January when I first really started my hhj:
