Dominican???

I keep seeing things about Dominican stylists and shops. What's up with that? What am I missing? Are they better? Have different techiques? What?

Well since I see no one else has answered yet I will give it a shot. Apparently they (as a general rule) take much better care of relaxed hair (not overlapping, trims not cuts, etc.) so most of their clients end up with long, healthy looking hair. I'm sure someone who actually frequents one of these establishments could tell you more, or correct any misunderstanding of mine on the issue.

Thanks so much for you response. I was beginning to think this was just a dumb question, but anything I don't know, I'm not afraid to ask.

Thanks again.

Like anything else, for some people they are better and for some they aren't.

I have noticed difference though:

At Dominican salons, they only blowdry the hair after it is dry which is much, much more healthier for the hair. They don't do much styling if any and the way they blowdry the hair seems to be of a different technique than other salons I have been to. Also, a rollerset is almost automatic after they wash your hair.

I'd say the technique is different that the other salons I have been to (AA and other). In the other salons (non-Dominican) after washing your hair, they towel dry it and then start with the blowdrying which is damaging to the hair.

I personaal ylike to go to Dominican salons simply because they know how to work with differnt grades of hair, use better products to make the hair healthy, and when they trim my hair it always grows back faster. Im not trying to diss black salons/stylist, I just feel that Dominican salons give me healthier looking results.
