Domincan salons and natural hair???

I'm new to this forum. I've been hearing alot about Domincan salons and the wonderful job they do. Do they happen to do natural hair? I'm transitioning (7 months) and was wondering if they could work their magic on this crazy head of mine. Are their any naturals who go to these salons or do they mainly deal with those with texturizers, perms, etc.? Thanks for your responses.

Re: Dominican salons and natural hair???

I got my natural hair done at one recently. The picture is in my siggy. She just charged $10 more than she would have charged if I had a perm.

I said it before and I'll say it again... Not a good idea.

Unless you don't mind permanent straightneing in some areas...
Just be careful

Ditto. Also, the blowdryer is burning (and I mean burning) hot, especially when they are working on natural hair.

Here's my reply (slightly modified) from the other thread:

I get a Dominican blow out every so often (last one was with a trim in November). The heat is only unbearable when I go to tacky, suspiciously cheap salons. At the nice ($$) one that I go to, it doesn't burn at all (until they get to the edges lol). I don't know if it's because they use a better blow dryer or are more gentle or what.

When you say "natural" what do you mean? Many Dominicans have type 2 or type 3 hair. If you have wavy mixed/Spanish type hair go right ahead. I personally am afraid to even step in a DS regularly with my relaxed type 4 hair, let alone going there as a type 4 natural. :nono:
