Any one use the LOC method? If so, what products do you use and what are your results. For those that don't know what LOC means:

Liquid (water, water-based product)
Oil (to seal in liquid)
Cream (to seal in oil)

Cream to seal in the oil?! What did I miss? I'm going to try this tonight with my rose water/jojoba oil spritz, macadamia oil, then giovanni direct leave in....would that work?
 
Oh yeah I use to do that to my ends while in cornrows. I would seal with Qhemet Biologics or w/e its called after using infusium 23 and castor oil. Ends were always moisturized. I'd do that while wearing wigs.
 
I love the LOC method! My hair is sooo soft and moisturized when I do this after co washing. I use HOT 6 oil to seal the water, then I use a little Profectiv deep conditioner mixed with Profectiv breakfree moisturizer as my cream.
 
No for me, my hair felt dry until I turned the LOC method into the LOCO method:yep: now that works like a charm:
Liquid - tea and avj rinse (left in)
Oil - gleau oil blend
Conditioner - bwc leave in
Oil - gleau oil blend

As for results, my hair feels soft and hydrated. The word I really want to use is 'rich'.

I use my spritz mix(distilled water,collagen,saa and avj),seal with avacado oil, then use Tressemme Naturals or TJ Nourish Spa.
 
I had started doing this but it didnt quite work for me

I do LCB

aloevera juice/herbal tea
any creamy LI (HV red tea or whipped ends, HQS greaseless moisture)
HQS 5 day moisture (shea butter)
 
Makes my hair so much easier to detangle! I wish I started doing it a long time ago. I put hemp oil on wet hair, then my leave in. Havent setled on a staple leave in yet but I get good results with pretty much everything
 
Depending on the style I have chosen to wear, I use LO or LC. Lately, I've been relying on liquid + cream, and just adding oil to my scalp.

Yes to the bolded above. I alternate between LCB and LC depending what I have to hand, but my fave is liquid + cream and trigger on scalp and baggy.
 
I got Hair build up. Before the whole LOC method trend came out. What worked well for me was liquid (leave in) and oil, and Leave in, cream, then oil. But it didnt work for me in LOC order.
 
I do a modification, OLOC: Oil, Liquid, Oil, Cream.

1st oil: Coconut oil right after rinsing DC when hair is still dripping wet
Liquid: diluted Tresemme color care conditioner
2nd oil: usually hempseed
Cream: Whipped shea butter

ETA: I only do this after washing, in between its just diluted condish, with oil and/or the whipped shea butter to seal.

it sure does work for me. and now that i revamped it. works so much better.

daily
l- mix of rosewater and knot today
o- ceramide mix: sunflower, safflower, walnut, grapeseed oils
c- a mix: knot today, shea butter and natures blessing pomade mixed together to make a cream.

if its wash day it changes a bit. for the L part i add shea moisture leave in's to the mix.

thats it. hair is soft and moisturized. its amazing what little tweaks can do to your regimen.
 
I used to be one of those nightly moisturize and seal types until I started using this method. I love it. I wash, DC, and LOC on Saturday night then braid my hair to stretch it. Then I do the LOC again on Wednesday. I am manipulating my hair less, while keeping it moisturized.

L= water/aloe vera gel mix
O= Sweet almond oil or argan oil
C= Oyin whipped shea butter or b.a.s.k. Sevenfold butter
 
I have been recently doing a L.O.C.B

L-a tea
O-gleau oil
C- a leave in, BFH or aubrey gpb
B-a butter Moxie hair bling

I have notice lots of improvement on my ends lately.
My highly porous hair stay moisturise for days.
 
Great thread! I just started the LOC this year.
L=Rosewater
O= Sweet Almond / Coconut or /Castor (for my ends)
C= Shea Moisture leave in or Shea Butter mix.

Based on this this thread I might try some tweaks to see if I can improve on this method.
 
I use it, but with LCO, because LOC was making my hair drier still. I've also tried LOCO, but I'm not sure if I like that better. I might end up alternating between the two. I do it 3x per week.

L- water
C- Africa's Best Organics Olive Oil Cream or more of my conditioner
O- castor oil or castor/grapeseed/EVOO mix
 
I'm confused...isnt this how most people do their hair anyway?
Water and then a leave-in, oil to seal (if you seal) and then some type of styling cream or milk to twist or buns?
 
It works for me. I use L-water/aloe vera mix, O-KBB oil with castor oil and. C- either KBB supa duper hydrating cream, QB AOHC or JC cream. I stay in wigs and this keeps it moisturized.

I think the majority of people are/were using oil as the last thing to seal.
 
EnExitStageLeft uses the LOC method and she has beautiful hair!

I LOVE the LOC method. It transformed my hair. I used to have to spritz my hair with water daily and add a little moisturizer to keep my hair from drying out. With the LOC method my hair stays hydrated for days. I just put a little twist on it because my I'm trying to take better care of my ends so that I show more growth. After washing, deep conditioning, steaming, and rinsing the conditioner out I follow the steps below:

L: Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave In Conditioner
O: Proclaim Natural 7 Oil or Jojoba Oil
C: Shea Moisture Organic Yucca and Aloe Growth Milk
B: Nubian Heritage Evoo & Moringa Repair & Extend Hair Butter (on my ends ONLY)

Yes, I sort of do this. My spray bottle contains

(L)- distilled water, aloe vera juice, Giovanni leave-in, AP olive oil miracle growth, and coconut oil. I spray mixture onto my hair everyday.

(O)- I apply Eden Bodyworks Peppermint oil to scalp or I apply my sulfur oil mixture to my scalp.

(C) Eden Bodyworks Peppermint Hair Milk
 
Where did this method come from anyway? I never heard of this until recently and never tried becuase it sounded like too much products at once. How does this work on transitioning hair and what styles can you do while moisturizing this way?
 
The LOC method keeps my hair moisturized up to three days before i reapply. I use water then EVOO then Giovanni Direct Leave In
