Does Permanent Folicle Damage Exist? Need Suggestions!

Yes I did a search.

My momma has an EXTREME case of folicle damage. How extreme?

I am 28 yrs old and I cannot remember her having a full head of hair. All i know is what i see in pictures.

Pictures are too graphic to show. Pretty much bald. Think the infamous Rio Relaxer x20...that's how bad if u need a visual.

What happened? Routine relaxer left on too long by stylist. NEVER grew back...NEVER.

I got her on a reggie of cowashing, and she just started MT. I figured if MT can cure the bald spots that most of the members had here then it should do SOMETHING.

Any other suggestions? Is it medically possible to NEVER grow hair back from a damaged folicle?

All I can say is that my mother has the exact same problem. She got a relaxer and then instead of leaving the hair she let this stylist put tight weaves in her hair for years which gave her traction alopecia. I don't know how she let it get this bad :nono:

I will say that OCT has been helping. An essential oil mixture will help as well. Some of the hair is growing back. I really want her to start head massages because blood flow can really help

tha'ts all I have for now.

I suspect this is what's wrong with my crown, hairline and edges. I've only made a solid commitment to proper care of my hair since last August so I'm still trying to work with it. I've used MTG and BT to no avail but I really can't say anything bad b/c I was not consistent.

I was planning to get BM. Now I'm thinking maybe I should get MT. I'm desperate to get my thick head of hair back.

My problem areas are from 10+ years of bad relaxers and too, tight braids.

By the way, MizzBrown what did you read and where. I'd like to see what it said, too. TIA.

Just did a quick search on here and got various stuff. She aint going to see a derm or trichologist so i gotta find something over the counter.

To be honest it is too difficult to tell. She would need to examined by a derm or trich.

There are various stages of chemical burn and then there are there 3 layers of skin on the scalp - Epidermis, Dermis and Hypodermis. If it is only the Epidermis cells that are damages then she should be OK.

I would give it a try. Maybe mix the the MT with emu oil; which is an amazing penetrating oil and has been proven to heal scare tissue.
