I know this might sound silly but does perm expire? I wear a sew in and only perm my perimeter so it will take me at least a year to get through my midsized container of Arosci.

I want to know too. I have a box of Phyto Index II and don't intend to do another touchup until maybe a year or two, can it go bad.. If nothing happens here, I guess I'll send an email to the company to find out because I had to lose $60 bucks for no reason..

Good question. Since I don't know the answer, I keep mine a year (from the date of purchase) and then chuck it. It may be a waste of money, depending on how long they actually last, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I buy a new tub each year. I say, if in doubt, throw it out. Your hair is worth the new tub! :)

Calling the company to find out is a good idea, too. You can use the batch number (if the product has one stamped on it) as a reference.

I don't know but I just chucked two 16 oz tubs of Barry Fletcher - 1 was a year old, and the other was 2 years. Hope you get a response to this one.

The first time I used Phyto the cream was all crusty on the top when I opened the jar. I hadn't relaxed in years and had never used phyto before so I wasnt sure what was up, but having paid $60 I was sure gonna find out. It still worked but after relaxing I had crust flakes in my hair that were hard to wash out. I never bought from there again and I havent had a crusty one since so I think it was old.

I wonder this too b/c i leave my perms frozen then let them throw out. I wonder do salons throw out perms that are a year or longer:perplexed...

It's highly unlikely that a salon would have a need to keep relaxer on hand long enough for it to expire.
