No it doesn't bother me. The new growth represents a healthy body and me getting closer to waist length. What I don't like is how delicate the demacration line is. It's amazing how fast my hair grows I am currently 2 weeks post and already a few buck shots.

Only cause of the gray hairs! lmfao!!! Right now Im trying to go 3m between relaxers...had my second one not too long ago but I dont go bone straight either. I like when the new growth comes in, cause when I do wash and go, my hair has a lot more body and is curlier since the pattern tends to carry through (hope that makes sense...)

Even when I flatiron on the weekends it looks fine, my new growth presses pretty smooth with that, so no prob. Its just those pesky gray hairs that drive me nuts! I use henna to dye them red, and finding I need to do that more than once a month...I may have to do it weekly on my hailine...

girl yes. i've got like a whole foot of it. :lachen:

okay but seriously. it never bothered me that much when i was relaxed/texlaxed either. i used to go the whole summer without touch-ups. now by then it was hard to comb thru the new growth cuz i didn't know better back then and wasn't doing it right... :drunk: but i've never been the "oh no, i have 1/4" of new growth i must go slap a relaxer on RIGHT NOW!" type... :lachen:

My new growth has never been a problem texture wise. When my hair overall was tangly then it made it a little bad to deal with, but now it's fine.

I lovee my new growth. It shows me that my hair is growing, and it's a lovely 3c/4a texture that I love to touch. I'm obsessed with my new growth, if anything ;P.

Up to a few months ago, I would have said "yes". I caused so much damage to my hair because I was on a quest for bone straight hair. And then, I had the nerve to wonder why my hair always breaking and didn't seem to grow.:yep: But ever since I became a member of LHCF, I love and appreciate my NG because it means healthy hair growth.

My new growth bothers me. It is thick, coarse, and it will lock if i don't comb and that hurts when trying to detangle..

lol...I know I'm weird, but I think NG is cute. I did pick "sometimes", though. Managing it is annoying!

I tend to agree; has anyone out there noticed that the "rage" of their ng has changed (for the better) since being on the forum??? Mine is not as crazy and with growth aids (MN/BT/capsaicin), but it is growing faster.

Lately my New Growth seems to bother other people.

Now THAT gets on my nerves. Why are YOU worried about it? Go slap some creamy crack in your hair at 4 weeks post if YOU want to but i'm toughin this bad boy out.

I get better and better at "managing" it every day and a couple days folks thought i had a relaxer cause i was managing it so well.

NG means its growing. I want to see those naps.

I agree MizzBrown. It's interesting how it can bother other people so much. Talk about "don't sweat the small stuff", jeez. One person who told me I needed a touch up (she was on my case from 6 weeks to 11 weeks post) proudly told me that she gets a relaxer every month. Okay, go ahead and keep doing that. :nono: :look:

New growth is AWESOME because it means my hair is growing. Actually, when I stay on top of keeping it hydrated, I think it feels nice. :)

This happens to me, also. I've had people ask me when I'm going to get a perm or tell me I need a perm. In my earlier days, I made have really said something. Now, I just them "to get out of my hair and work on yours". People are so rude.

No I got HYH disease with NG and I'm addicted to touching it.
Everytime around 9-10 weeks I start contemplating a transition b/c I love my ng so much but so far I haven't had the guts even though I almost BC like 2 nights ago:blush:
I'm starting to scare myself here.

It does and it doesnt but more so the latter. I kind of like the feel of it, except when it feels really dry. At the same time it makes it even more hard for me to comb and style my hair and Im already challenged in that area.

It used to bother me and I'd be quick to throw on a relaxer. But now that I'm wiser and more educated on how to handle my newgrowth (thanks to all of the pros here at LHCF), it doesn't bother me anymore. I love the texture and have even considered maybe going natural.

Oh my goodness. It used to bother me SO much. I just did not understand my hair on any level. I appreciated it for meaning that my hair was growing, but nothing more. But reading books and joining hair sites helped me to the point where I can go (and stay) natural.

Not lately. Im luvin my thick new growth. It did bother me before I started learning how to take care of my hair and about products(i.e. castor oil or sparkling gel) that can help smooth my edges.

wow im only 6 weeks post and have so much new growth that i was going to relaxed, until i read this thread. I think ill try to wait

Totally agree. If one more person feels the need to ask when I am relaxing I may slap them.

It did .. then I discovered the beauty of the braidout; a cute alternative to the damp bun, can still cowash daily, never harmed by humidity.

I love it now, I just had to work with it, not against it.
