I voted no. I love seeing and playing in my new growth...it doesn't bother me at all...seeing my new growth reassures me that my hair is still growing.

My new growth dosen't bother me at all, the sooner I see it, it just lets me know my hair is growing. I love the variety of things you can do to stretch and keep the new growth healthy. Rollersets, twistouts (which I haven't perfected yet), braids etc.
The longer I keep it the stronger my hair seems to get. Sta Sof Fro helps me out alot also.

About a week or two after I get a relaxer, I am eager to see newgrowth. It bothers me when I don?t see it fast enough. But, then when it kicks in, it bothers me that my hair is not as easy to style or that my styles don?t last as long. We have a love/hate relationship. :)

It's that way for me also. I love the fact that my hair is growing, but I hate having to deal with the two different textures. I don't even bother combing the new growth, it's so hard to manage.

Nope!!! On the contrary, it's my relaxed ends that bother me... I can't wait til I have enough new growth to feel comfortable chopping!

This is exactly how I am feeling right now.

I noticed new growth when I wore a relaxer because the hair at the roots would be very hard. Since going natural, I noticed that I have very soft, fine hair which is wavy at the roots so I can't feel the difference. I wish it looked that way all the way to the ends but at least what I have now is a lot better than what I was sporting before.

Love it and hate it....

Hate it, it's bothering me right now! This is my first stretch, and I just passed the ten week mark. It was extremely hard to do something decent with my hair morning, without my head looking tore up. I'm tempted to relax my hair this weekend, but I really want to make that 12th week mark.

On the other hand, I love my new growth, because that tells me my hair is growing.

Before I knew about taking care of my hair, it use to bother me all of the time. I couldn't stand going without a relaxer every 4wks. Now that I know how to deal with it I embrace every inch of it :) . I never thought that I would say this BUT..."I Love My Newgrowth" .

THE ONLY THING THAT ANNOY'S ME WHEN IS COMES TO NEW GROWTH IS THE WAY IT COMES IN. NOT SOFT AND WAVY LIKE TYPE 3A/B, BUT VERY DRY AND COMPACT. I COULD STRETCH MUCH LONGER ,AND NOT BE BOTHERED BY NEW GROWTH AT ALL IF ONLY IT WAS EASIER TO HANDLE.

Styling is the same for me w/ or w/o new growth. If I want to wear my hair down, I flat iron from root to ends. If I want a bun, I pin it up and tie it down with a scarf. I use the same products too, I've found so many conditioners with such great slip of all different price ranges I just use my slippery products all the time.

My new growth only bothers me when it gets really puffy and makes my hairline look like black cotton. Puffy newgrowth really stands out when your hair is growing out from a good perm.

I love when i see new growth mine is manageable so i dont mind..Im always looking at it to see how much cuz i know lots of new growth means lots mo' hair:D

:D I am transitioning so new growth to me means my hair is getting longer. Sure dealing with the two textures can be nerve wrecking but oh thats the life of a long term transitioner....

I voted yes only because the longer my hair gets the lazier I'm getting with washing and rollersetting (it takes so daggone long now).
I either wear my hair straight or in a very curly rollerset and since I'm working out 5 days/week now daily rollersetting ain't gonna happen (so I'll just walk around with puffy roots looking crazy for right now).

It does not bother me per se right now, but having to rebraid every two weeks because the new growth is out of control is not a problem I should complain about, but I wish I knew how to take care of it better so the braids do not look so messy.

But mostly I like it because it means my hair is getting longer and longer - success and progress.

I'm the same way... I workout everyday of the week and my hair isn't always looking it's best, but I don't care cause I feel so good and I know it's all for a good cause.

I actually like my new growth even though it ain't the prettiest. I always have my hands in my hair playing with it. When I get to about 12 weeks post relaxer i start to consider going natuaral. Maybe one day i'll tak the plunge and actually do it.

Hey Candy do you mean that after NG kicks in your hair growth seems to be on a roll?? If so, mine too. I don't get tenderness that much, but after the new growth kicks in after a relaxer, it seems to just be faster as the days and weeks pass on. That 1st 2 weeks after a relaxer seem to really drag, as far as seeing any growth is concerned.

I do get tingles and things on my scalp. I used to use growth aids and was used to that. Now that I don't use any aids, I still get tingles after week 4 or so after a relaxer. I was actually surprised by that and it encourages me not to use any topical aids.

To answer the thread, I luvs my new growth. :) Esecially 2-5 weeks post relaxer. My hair is always so managable and has so much body during those weeks. It is more likely to do what I want it to do, as far as styling is concerned. Before that, it seems too flat and after that I cannot even think about trying to comb or part it without some drama. :) But, NG mean longer hair so its all good :D

Hey chick..YEAHHH! ITS like, once it gets to 10 weeks...my hair gets wild, and grows so so quickly. i dont see any growth until about 6 weeks, and it comes from nowhere.

i wonder whats going on there

maybe as the new growth pushes through enough hair, it feels the "coast" is clear of any burny stuff to survive lol

No...it doesn't bother me. I am in the process of transitioning and welcome new growth. Mainly because as I get new growth and take care of my ends, I know my hair is at least growing.

My new growth and I have a love/hate relationship. I love to see it because my hair is growing and one of my new favorite things to do is to play in it....

But we definitely have our off days. Sometimes we fight just for me to put my hair in the simplest styles. I want it to lay down and it will not cooperate. I have to push my touch up back an extra month now due to hair scheduling conflicts and I'm curious to see how we are going to make out. Hopefully we'll come to an agreement sooner than later lol. :)

I voted no, even though it is a completely different texture from my relaxed hair I don't really notice it enough until about 12 weeks post.
