Does faster growth = more shedding?

Ok, since i've been using my cayenne mix, i've experienced more shedding then usual. Even more than with my MN mix. So, i've been wondering....does faster growth mean more shedding? And yes its shedding and not breakage...bulb and everything.

This is what has been comming out. I usually get half of this:

Not a guru, but from experience when my hair sheds more than usual, it means my scalp is not happy. Usually from putting stuff on my scalp or from wearing my hair too tight.

No, I don't think that there is any proof that the rate of growth and the lifecycle of the follicle are related.

I think halee_J might be right - the cayenne might be irritating your scalp a bit much.

i'll do an experiment. I'll stop using it for 1 week to see if there is a difference.
