Does colour=shine!?

Have any of you ladies notice a nicer shine after you've colored your hair? I mean rinses too if that's possible" If so was it a rinse or a permanent and what brand?

Rinses are usually the culprit for blinding shine that one doesn't have naturally.

I use Adore and Sebastian with great results as far as shine.

Ooooh Great glad to hear it's true! I keep hearing about this sebastians where do you buy this at and is it safe to apply at home.

ooops almost forgot can you apply it right after a relaxer /images/graemlins/look.gif

Order it from metro beauty. I live in Miami (where they are based)and it's only a 15 min drive downtown to get it. They will shipthe colourshines to you.

Yes to all of the above Atlien. I'm not sure where to get it near you though. I haven't seen it in BSS like I used to since moving South. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif I pick it up on visits to NY where they sell it everywhere.

I've never used before...but I'm gonna treat myself during the spring with a Sebastians Colorshine (and pretend that I'm Kitchen_tician /images/graemlins/smile.gif).

YES, THEY DO MAKE YOUR HAIR SHINE. THEY COAT THE CUTICLE BETTER IN RETURN LIGHT REFLECTS OFF THE NOW MORE "EVEN" SURFACE AND THAT EQUALS BLING, BLING!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Colourshines always gives me a lot of shine. Even if you don't want to add color to your hair, the clear colourshine gives just as much shine.

Thanks MonaLisa, you are too sweet and funny! /images/graemlins/drunk.gif Your hair also has a nice shine to it. I want to try colorshines too and plan on buying some on my next trip to DC. I also want to try it in the Spring.

Where can I buy it in DC?

@Kitchentician...who's joking? lol. That will be my caption in my pics when I get it done.

i have wayyyyyyyyyyyyy 2 much time on my hands... hahaha

My black rinses used to make my hair shine like patent leather. I want to say the brand was Jazzing (?) or something like that, but I can't swear to that. Anyway, imho, yes, but I would say the opposite is true of permanent color. The one time I had a dye, my hair looked pretty lackluster unless I added products for shine.

Ulta doesn't sell it /images/graemlins/frown.gif...I called and asked

Well when I got my color my hair seem to be dull! Unless I added products. I'm glad I only did highlighs! My roller sets look very good with the color. I just found a way to make my color look good. I apply giovanni leave in & oil while my hair is wet and it looks amazing when I blow dry. /images/graemlins/clap.gif

I like Adore semi-permanent. I used the black velvet 2 months ago, and the color is still holding (I'm really shocked /images/graemlins/shocked.gif). I plan to use it again in a couple weeks to see if I can get my hair even darker.

I used Jazzing a while back, and I don't think it was anything special. As for Adore, I'm sold!

I've recently colored my hair so I know permanent colors aren't the cause for all that shine, but rinses on the other hand give you an incredible shine…I mean BLINDING! /images/graemlins/shocked.gif

On another note, Tracy I saw Adore at my local bss and wanted to pick it up. Is this stuff worth the money?

I too have used Adore (white bottle) and it worked great. I used their Crimson color. It was cheap (lie 3.99) and it lasted too.

I re-applied the Adore black. My hair did get darker. The color and shine is really great.

/images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif This color sounds interesting. Is it at all damaging to your hair? For those ladies in DC and Norhern VA I saw Sebastian Colourshines at Wegmans in Sterling.

As of Thursday of last week, I am an Adore fan. I used the "Mahogany" rinse/color after re-coloring my hair from a terrible mishap. Anyways, I believe that Adore is the reason for a lot of the shine my hair has. I put the rinse on myself, and the next day I went to the shop to get my hair done. Despite my hairdresser washing my hair 4 times (shampoo/condition/shampoo/condition/rinse), the color still held strong and was really visible even when I wasn’t outside in sunlight. I don’t feel the rinse was damaging at all; in fact, it was more of a conditioning treatment to me, like Jazzings by Clairol. Both of those rinses gave my hair more of a soft feeling after using them. However, Adore is a keeper!

For the ones who have tried Adore and Sebastians which one works better as far as overall appearance and health to the hair.

And if Adore is so good why is it 3.99 and Sebastians 22.50 the price difference is crazy /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I prefer Adore. I have used Adore clear and Sebastian's clear and Sebastians clear did nothing at all. I let my hair buddy try, the same result. Adore clear gave me a nice sheen. I also tried Sebastian's Black Orchard and I didn't like the blue black it gave my hair and it was super messy. The prettiest black I have used was the darkest brown shade by Alfa Parf. I used it at the salon the same day I got a relaxer. My hair was jet black and shiny for a longgggg time. I may try Adore next, since I can only get this blk. rinse at a particular salon.
