Does anyone\'s hair goals feel far away???

I only have 2.5''until I reach my hair goal

, and while the thought of this is very exciting,

I can't help but feel as if its taking me FOOORRREEEEVVVEEEERRRR to get there!

Its like, now that i'm getting closer to the end, I just feel like I'm not gonna get those last couple of inches

, and even though I've made a lot of progress since I started in January, I feel like it doesn't matter until I get those 2.5 inches. Does anyone else ever feel like this???

Mine does cuz I'm a (fairly) new transitioner w/ 2 yrs to go

. But I'm really happy that I'm making steady progress towards my goal

You're lucky mine is like 7.5 inches away. My goal seems long when I think about it in the context of something I've never had before and doubts start to set it, but when I break it down to myself as my hair will be this long in 15-18mths. I say hey God willing you're gonna be around in 18 more months why not be there with longer hair and that keeps me motivated to stick to my guns with my routine and health of my hair!

I need 4 inches to reach my goal and it seems like it's taking forever.I had a setback when my stylist cut
off more of my ends then I preferred last month.

Most of us probably feel that our goals are a long way off. I've had highs and lows in journey. In September I reached a goal and I was floating on a cloud and now that has worn off and I'm low again. 3 to 4 months from now, I will probably be on another high as long as gain inches.

I think we all feel this at one time or another. And the funny thing about hair goals is that it seems like the more you get, the more you want

I have two goals...one is to reach waist length but if I'm careful, I know that goal is within arm's reach.
My other goal is for my natural hair to get to my shoulders unstraightened so I feel comfortable cutting it. I feel like that one is going to take forever...at least 2 more years.

My goal is another 4-5. We'll see how this fine hair can look at bra strap. Trying to resist the urge to cut is like needing drug rehab.

Yes, my goal seems very far away. My stylist just trimmed 2.5 damaged inches from my hair (with my permission). I am frustrated. But at the same time, thanks to this board my hair looks better than it ever has. I'm trying to focus on that.

I feel that way sometimes, but it is because of the really long hair goal that I set- hair I can sit on. I need a good 25 more inches to get there. I am also still cutting some damaged hair off, which is making it take even longer.

I recently started an aggressive vitamin routine, to hopefully speed things along. I hope this will cut the wait down from about 4 years to about 2.5 years.

I have three inches until I reach my goal of 23". It seems like it's taking fooooorrreeeeever! My hair just doesn't seem like it's getting long to me. My next goal after that is 2" until brastrap. Hopefully I'll be there before December of next year! It seems to drag on.

I have 3-4 inches til brastrap length, but I appreciate the length I've gained this summer. My big push is to find detangling products so that my home care won't thin out my hair. That more immediate goal has distracted my focus from the length I want by the holidays. I'm enjoying the journey.

I try not to think so much about my goal being far away. I try to think of it as I am getting closer to my goal with every inch I gain.

I'm a good 5-6 inches from where i'd like to be. It is very discouraging at times. Hopefully by this time next year i will have at least4 inches of HEALTHY retained additional inches.

The more I get the more I want...

I remember when Bra Strap was but a fleeting dream. Now that I'm inch and a half or so away, my focus has shifted to waist length and that seems like it'll NEVAH git here...esp. since it took so long to get to bra strap!

Mine are far away. The good thing is that my hair is growing pretty fast (for me) but I am trying to not keep on cutting it, I dont trim I CHOP b/c i dont want my hair ends to grow in thin and look like death. My goal is to have even full looking healthy hair !

Since I have already reached one goal, 6 inches in 12 months, my next goal is waist length which is only 6 more inches for me. This doesn't feel far away because when I don't think about my hair all the time, I look up and it's grown so much. If my hair growth cycle allows waist length hair, I will have it, if not, I will be happy with whatever my particular cycle is.

I am so stoked to only be 3 inches away from my goal. Look at a ruler, 3 inches is nothing!!! I keep telling myself that by springtime, I'm going to have atleast 3 inches if not more!!!!!

YES!! You're not alone!! I'm ALMOST at my goal, but I too feel like I'll never get there. Last setback was my stylist - he cut off at least an inch from the back!! He claimed that it needed to be evened up... well, you can bet I won't let him do that again at the end of the year at my next touchup!!

I'm really dreading it though!!

I'm a good 15 inches away from my goal (waistlength) so you know I feel like that

I'm hoping it will even grow that long. The good news is my hair seems to be going at a pretty good pace and when I step up the protein, exercise, and add msm, I think I can get 3/4-1 inch a month. So my goal is about 2 years away. But patience is NOT virtue with me

My ultimate hair goal does seem very far away!!! It may take me 7 years to reach there, but if my hair keeps growing at its current rate I'll reach that goal in less than 7 years. I started with hair less than 0.5 inches in April (April 28,2003),and I've cut about 1.5 inches off since then. Do you know what? I could make a ponytail with my hair now!! So be encouraged, you'll reach your goal sooner than you think.

I have 2 goals: waistlenght then tailbone. I hope to have waistlength by next summer, then tailbone by June 2005.

wow my goal is unbelivable far away so i made little baby steps for myself so i'm only 2inches from my first goal and 7niches from my ultimate goal...
