After looking through her album, I was impressed by how even she got her hair! I tired to cut off 1/4" using her method and mine came out uneven. I had to have my hubby even it up (and won't do THAT again). I was just wondering if there's anyone out there who TRIMS there hair (not just dusting) and has done so successfully. What is your technique? TIA, ladies!

I always trim my own hair.. I part my hair the way I usually wear it. Then I part it (with a fine tooth comb) going straight down in about 1/4 inch sections and I trim. Some people just dust but I cut up until the highest split end. This may sound like a lot but I trim faithfully every 8 weeks so I'm not cutting a lot. I think my hair looks so good after a trim and not to mention it behaves so much better. HTH.

I used this method last night. What you do is, make sure you comb your hair neatly into a low ponytail. Then you slide the pontail holder down to the ends of the hair or however much you want to cut. Then you bring the ponytail around over your shoulder and snip the hair that is at the end of the ponytail holder. I got a nice blunt cut doing this. Hope this makes sense.

Cutiepie, your hair is beautiful!

I self-trim by parting my hair down the middle and across my head. Then I pull each quarter section taught, and trim, and I get an even trim. I don't like blunt ends so I turn the shears into the hair (does this make sense?) and snip a little to keep them from looking too blunt.

I dust every 2-3 months and trim once a year.

Thanks Divine Inspiration. You have some beautiful hair also.

Thanks. I have to get rid of these ends so I am going to trim them tonight and I am trying to figure out the best way. So far I think that DSD's method will work out good.
