Would anyone know how to do a wet and go style with relaxed hair. Is it even possible? When wet my hair is very wavy. I was wondering is there a technique for this. If so, please share
Lee, I wear mine like that every day. I either rinse in the shower and apply a leave-in or spritz with glycerin/water/conditioner, or African Royale Daily Doctor. I let it air dry.
I asked my hair dresser that question and she said to just wash it then put a regular conditioner on it and let it air dry.
But I saw some past threads in which people recommended BBD Glass, or Black and Sassy, none of which I've tried.
my hair is like that right now i have it in a ponytail scrunched with mousse and pomade with a couple of strands loose in the front. when i wear my hear wet i use more oil on my ends because if not they will look dry and frizzy. it looks really good after about an hour or two cuz i looks more natural and fuller
After poo & conditioning, I'll towel dry (to remove excess water), use leave in & hot six oil. Then I'll put the hair in a low manipulation style, such as.... make a side part and tuck the length behind my ears... then let it airdry. I end up with mega waves
On dry hair, I'll mist with distilled water & glycerin until damp & proceed with styling.
I want to try some of the listed product recs; maybe I'll get more wave definition
Scrunching is when you gather your hair in your hands and lightly squeeze it to create a curl/wave pattern. Mine doesn't look as great once it's dry because as it dries, it frizzes.
Thanks Karonica! When do you start to scrunch (at what point of the drying process?)
And once dry, is their any way to apply something to make it tame down? I'd like to try this, but I think my hair would frizz like crazy.
Generally, I wet my hair and start scrunching at that point, when it's wet, but not dripping wet because there's no way my hair is going to hold curls when water is pouring off my head. But, mine needs to be somewhat wet, but not over 70% percent dry, or else I won't get much formation either.
if u plan on using mousse, it does not have to be too wet , since the mousse would add some moisture to it , you can scrunch after the mousse has been added
What's the difference between setting foam (like keracare setting foam) and a mousse (like the loreal alcohol free one)? Could the setting foam be used in place with similiar results?
Does anyone have a picture of a style like this where they just dried a little, applied mousse, and scrunched? How does your hair turn out if you just leave it alone with mousse? A lot of questions I know and I know it would vary from person to person, but I'm just curious because I'm scared to death or air drying
soslychic,
I don't know if you've seen my pics yet, but feel free to check them out! They're on page two of my hair album. That was the first time I felt that my air-dried hair looked good enough to wear out in public...
I always added gel (Let's Jam) with my mousse for maximum effectiveness. But now, it doesn't curl much for some reason. My hair is weird though, so I am a poor example.

.....how did you get that "curly look" in the first pic?

Thanks!!! I get that look by setting my hair on sponge rollers (covered with end papers) at night, using oil (for shine) and setting lotion (I use Salon Selectives Loosely Defined (now discontinued...
)
I really like my hair better when it's curly; it looks kinda thin when I wear it straight!!
