Does Anyone Still Use the Lunar Cycle to Trim???

I wanted to but couldn't decide who to believe.

For example, Anthony says trim on:
Dec 6-7 for length
Dec 15-16 for thickness
Dec 23 to retard growth

LHL says trim on:
Dec 15-16 for length
Dec 23 for thickness

So does the 23rd retard growth or make hair thicker?

Thanks Sareca. I was wondering the same thing. I know there have been discussions about who is right and which chart to follow. I was wondering if you or anyone else has ever actually followed either of the charts with success???

Isis has been pretty active in other lunar hair threads, but I've never followed it. :nono: Like MM said, I need both calendars to agree on a day for lengthening/growth. I DO NOT want thickening. Looks like the two only agreed on lengthening about 3 days this year.

Hmmmm, that's interesting. I don't remember what chart I looked at, but I remember in Feb, the day I trimmed on lined up with one of the charts and I got a nice growth spurt. I need to look at my fotki and figure this thing out.

I've heard about this but does it work??? Wouldn't my hair reach that certain length w/w/out using the cycle...

Ok, according to my Fotki, I trimmed on the 25th of Feb, which lines up with Dr. George Michael's chart on LHL. So what about it ladies? Anyone else got some input?

Women on my mother's side of the family have always been very loyal to the lunar cycle. I don't cut my hair very often but I make sure to check the dates before I do.

So which dates do you use??? What is the track record of growth/thickness for the ladies in your family that use this method?

Ok, so when you did, did you notice a growth spurt or added thickness??? How long have you been doing this and what have your results been?
I did the Oct 24/25 date that agreed with both Ive only done it one time since im not a frequent trimmer
I do scalp massages, vits, ect. so I cant attribute one thing to my growth/thickness progress I just wanted to make sure when I did do a trim it wasnt on a retard growth date

Here's some info:

I don't even need one hand to count how many of my mother's relatives have relaxed hair. Never having had a relaxer myself and observing how seemingly easy it is for men to grow their hair, I think you're at an advantage if you've never relaxed.

Of course, there are relaxed-gone-natural as well as several relaxed women who have beautiful hair that grows to great lengths. I do think never having relaxed helps though. My hair grows very quickly but that could also be mostly genetics.

To answer your question, several of the women on my mother's side have long, healthy hair. Could be genetics but I know they cut by the moon.

I've trimmed twice in the last 12 months--once in Dec and once in Mar and my hair needs growth aids just to get to .5 inches/month. It use to grow .75 inches/month with nothing but MSM. So please let me know which calendar you used.

yo umust have been reading my mind because I have been wondering who else does this...one of my old stylists only trimmed on the new moon for me at least and somehow all my appts landed on those days...lol...

Hmmmm, thank you so much for the links and the response. Have you ever asked them for the reason that they cut by the moon? It would be interesting to hear their responses. Even being relaxed, I got a nice growth spurt from my trim in February (I have pics in my fotki).

Sareca, I figured out that it was the LHL chart that I fell under. The other chart said that the day I trimmed was a day to retard growth, but that was soooooo not the case!:look:

I think I will trim again on 3 January after the new year according to the LHL chart. Thanks ladies!!!!

In the words of my mother: "Cutting your hair by the moon makes your hair grow."

Doesn't get any simpler than that. I don't know where they got it from but it's been done for a long time in my family.

Thank you so much lady..... Lunar trimming it is!!!!

My mother wholeheartedly believes this and her hair grows super fast :look:. One rule of thumb she told me to go by was, in order for your hair to grow, trim/cut during a growing or waxing moon cycle-it has to be before the moon cycle reaches the full moon stage...or something like that :spinning:

maybe i will start this again....instead of this weekend I will wait till January 3rd..this plus my vitamins, water and MN should help me grow a ton huh?

You know what I JUST realized??? The chart that I was looking at is for '07, so the January rd date might not be ok for '08!!!!:wallbash:

Does anyone have a link to an '08 lunar chart?:drunk:

...and the saga continues!!!:lachen:
