Does anyone lean over the bath anymore?

This is very interesting.

It seems that standing in the shower ain't all that popular or at least we aren't all doing it like i initially presumed.

Its only since i've been on LHCF that i started standing in the shower and i have to say my hair isn't any better for it - and i'm getting the odd spot on my chest and back.

When I relax my hair I bend under the tub faucet.

Normally I take a bath so I wash and condition by laying back in the tub.

I just started oil rinsing so I shower in the morning for that, it seems easier.

I use to wash my hair in the shower and then jump out, do DC and get back in the shower but what I have started to do is: Do my DC as my prepoo on dry hair and then jump in the shower rinse, Poo, and as I am washing up, shaving, I have my rinse on my hair and will rinse that out and I'm done in the shower.

The only time I get in and out is when I relax or doing an protein treatment. Most day I take showers at night and baths in the morning after walking

I wash and condish in the shower 90% of the time. I think it due to being lazy and just wanting to do a one stop hair/body thing. Sometimes I do wash in the sink but I only lean over the tub when relaxing.

The only reason I started washing my hair in the shower was when I went to college and had to use the community bathroom. I'll co-wash in the shower, but as I stated before, on "hair day (DC)," I'll lean backwards over the tub.

i've been thinking about starting a thread/poll about this all week asking if people washed hair in shower, sink, or tub... but you beat me to it!!!

I go back and forth between the sink and shower dependeing on how many things i'm doing at the time. on complicated things, i mainly station myself at my kitchen sink. but on simpler things that requires fewer steps... i just go on in the shower. I would feel too ackward bending over my tub.

Wash day is pretty much an all day event for me anyway.:ohwell: I used to wash leaning under the tub faucet. But jumping in and out of the shower is the best way for me to control tangles and unnecessary hair loss.

It depends for me really. Sometimes I'll do it in the shower, but then sometimes I do it in the kitchen sink before or after I shower.

I don't, but I also not a fan of jumping in and out of the shower (I just don't have the time).

So, I usually either shampoo in the shower, but rinse the conditioner out in the kitchen sink with the hose after. Or, I'll shampoo in the sink and rinse the conditioner out in the shower. Either way works really well for me. :)

No! Hurts my neck. Only if I am wetting my hair for deep conditioning. Then I hate the water running all over me (cuz I'm stupidly still wearing a bra or pants or something).

I use the tub faucet to to rinse out the relaxer and I use the kitchen sink for washing and conditioning.

I get sick of being in the shower for so long, so I wash bending over the tub. I save the shower for the last thing...rinsing out my my deep conditioner. I do my detangling in the shower while rinsing out my DC to keep the tangles and knots to a minimum.

bend over the bath/shower ..I like the thought that I'm washing my hair in both directions ..it also allows the blood to go to my head.

I do. I hate washing my hair in the shower because hair gets all over my body. Then I'm standing there pulling strands off my arms, legs etc.

I totally agree with this. I refuse to wash my hair in the shower, even if it's just for a cowash. So, I happily bend over the tub to wash my hair. If I washed it in the sink, I'd get water everywhere, so the tub works perfectly for me. The water pressure is strong and it really helps me to make sure that I've gotten out all of the poo & condish or any other substance w/out taking too much time to do it. Plus, detangling is a breeze when I do it this way:yep::yep:

I used to only wash my hair in the shower. It was great for eliminating tangles, etc. It took too long though. B/c I would have to step out of the shower and put the deep conditioner in, sit under the hood dryer w/it on, then hop back in the shower again. Plus, I don't think that is good for my skin. I need to have beautiful hair and skin. :yep:

So, now, I bend over backwards over the bthrm sink. I'm getting really good at it. I don't even get my shirt wet anymore. I keep a towel nearby. I don't even have a decent hose attachment so I use a cup. It's works really well and cuts down on wash and conditioning time.

Now I just have to get faster at rollersetting. It take me about 40 minutes sometimes to get all of the rollers in there. :( But, my hair is even and growing towards waistlength so it's all worth it!

The last time I leaned over to wash my hair, I thought my back would never stop aching. I'd rather wash my hair in the shower to save my back and to keep the tangles at bay.

I agree. I used to wash in the shower but never felt my hair was that clean. Its so much better for me leaning over the tub because like you said, the water pressure is much stronger.:yep: But unfortunately, my hair tangles a lot, but I still like it better that washing it in the shower.

By the way, great thread, OP. Its good to get an idea of how everyone's washing.:yep:

This is so crazy, I was just thinking about this the other day. I have washed my hair in the tub for years, but since becoming more hair conscious I know that the shower it better for my hair, but it's such a pain. So i've decided that I'll just spend more time carefully detangling when I wash it in the tub to prevent breakage. I just don't have the time or the patience to keep getting in and out of the shower.:nono:
