My hair was really dry so I decided to mix some Monoi de Tahiti (needed to get rid of it-the oil turned solid b/c of the cold and I actually prefer it like that. Looked and felt like my coconut oil), Jojoba oil, Rosemary e.o. with my Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose conditioner and left it in for hours. Then I rinsed it out of my hair in the shower with warm/hot water, kinda like an oil rinse?
Feels OK but I still have some conditioner residue on my scalp which is a . Next time I'll dilute some of my cheapie condish, put in a bottle with a nozzle and pour directly on my scalp, massage a bit without disturbing the braids too much.
This would have been a good time to try the ayurvedic rinses...
The main goal was to restore some moisture, I was about to start a fire with this hur. Also, I want to do a protein treatment before I redo these braids in a couple of weeks thus moisture, moisture, moisture.
How many of you do this or a variation of this and how has it worked for you?
