Do you use a lot or a little?

...product in your hair? I'm realizing that even an eensy weensy evenly spread throughout my hand is enough product for rollersets. My hair still comes out feeling soft and moisturized.

ITA. I always use a small amount of product. When I rollerset I divide my hair in 2 sections and I apply a little less than a dime size amount of leave in on each side. Then 1 squirts of serum on each side. That's it

Are you feeling better today?? I was so upset for you this weekend. What serum do you use for your rollerset? and how do you sit under the dryer for your hair to get complete dry and what do you do with your hair in the pm??

I'm learning to use less product. I feel the need to use more as the time between my relaxers gets longer. When I initially roller set I don't use that much but after I let it go for a few days I am finding that I need more to make it look "acceptable"- especially when I'm 12 weeks post relaxer!

I don't really use product outside of shampoo, conditioner, henna, rhassoul clay, herbs, oils, butters and a few homemade spritzes. I use a lot of conditioner but the rest is as needed.

I have learned through trial and error, that less is better, especially for rollersets. You get bouncier and more airy results with less product.

Hey Babygirl, Yes I feel better. Thanks for asking. My friend is getting the Brown Matrix Prism for me today so hopefully it will tone the red down some

I use Aveda Brilliant Serum for my rollersets. I roll using the purple & gray rollers. I sit under my hooded dryer for about 1.5 hours. Once dry I wrap it & cover with a scarf.

My hair is porous and sucks up product like a black hole, so I give it all it wants until it feels right and it tends to take a good amount of product.

I thought I used a small amount until I saw one of macherie's videos. I was like when I heard she used a quarter dollar size of product. I was def. using about 3 times the amount and I have a lot less hair than she does. It was then I realized I need to take it easy on the amount of product I use.

Same here. Usually, if there is nothing that I can use a “dab” of. I don’t roller set, but I usually have to apply any product, whether it be my moisturizer or conditioner, in small sections of the hair anyway, so that in and of itself makes it almost impossible to use a little bit of anything (with the exception of oil which my hair is not very fond of anyway). I guess then that may suggest that I have porous hair as well. My thick, type 3 hair may be another reason. This is one reason why I am so hesitant to incorporate expensive products into my regimen.

I use a palmful (a little bigger than a silver dollar). The amount probably depends on the length and thickness of your hair. I also divide my hair into six sections and apply product from root to tip not just on top of my hair or on the ends.

I am heavy-handed with moisturizing conditioner. Anything for my rollersets...a dab will do--I have learn that it makes for a much nicer set on my hair.

I used to be extremely heavy handed but I have learned to control myself. My hair appreciates it. I only lather it on when I am using my conditioners.
