Do You Think Your Hair Is Long??

A funny thing happen to me the other day....I decided to wear my hair down and semi straightened after months of WNG's At least three people commented with OMG your hair is long. Right now I'm twelve weeks post and my hair looks about 1/2 inch from BSL....I can see my own progress when I take a pic, but for some reason it doesn't feel long

My goal was always to be BSL or MBL, but the closer I get to it....I feel like its still too short and I need to be aiming for WL

Do any of you ladies will that way?? Is this just what happens when you start getting some length?

I recently started wearing my natural hair out this summer and everyone at work was telling me how long my hair was and why did I wear wigs! To me, my hair is a nice length but I don't think it is that long. Stretched it is about armpit length. And not stretched shoulder length or a lil above. I was wearing a twist out that day.

Nope, not at SL. When it was about 3" from BSL I didn't think it was long then either, now I think that length was long lol. You just get used to what you've got I guess.

I think members of lhcf have somewhat of a different view of what constitutes as long hair. I mean, before joining this forum i had only seen examples of (just about) apl 4a/b hair.

Anything past APL is long to me.

I certainly have that problem. My hair is right at APL and I mostly wear it in twist outs (although I'm always stretching the back piece to check the length). It is crazy because even though this is the longest that my hair has been as an adult it does not seem long to me. I am itching to straighten it but don't want to do so until I'm at least BSL.

Darn you LHCF for making me hairorexic!

Compared to what i had before...i consider my hair short....however i consider APL and beyond to be long..i'm literally KNOCKING on APL's door right now!...i consider MBL and beyond to be super long.

If you are beyond WL...in my eyes you have extremely long hair...

When I first started my hair journey, I was CBL and I thought once I go to BSL I would feel like my hair was long. But as my hair grew, my idea of long hair on myself kept changing. Now that my hair is WL I do consider it long, but any length I got to before WL seemed short to me.

They do...so I say it is although I know people have much longer hair

My hair is long when I'm out and about, BUT when I log on to LHCF and see all these long-haired divas - I feel some kinda way about my length.

I just finished flat-ironing a few minutes ago and even though I'm grateful to have reached BSL (my initial goal), my hair seems medium-length now. I should be WL by next year this time, so hopefully I'll be satisfied with that.

eta: I didn't see Nix08's post before I posted, but I see I'm not the only one whose length seems somewhat diminished by viewing pics of really, really long hair. Maybe I need to take a break from LHCF until I get to MBL...I need to stop lyin', this hair porn is too tempting to do that.

Yeah, I know my hair is long so I don't have hairorexia, but I do have a condition where I think my hair isn't thick enough or my ends aren't healthy enough. I obsess about it until I see a picture or something and then it's like, "oh, yeah, I'm straight." I can't live like this

I don't think my hair is short but I don't think its long either. This board has really changle my views on what is considered long. Before this board I thought apl was long hair and since coming here where I seen women grow their hair to waist length and beyond make me feel my approaching bsl hair is average.

haha, in high school when my hair was BSL I didn't think it was long at all...i remember the day i was like "whoa, it's not short...but still...not long". Now, looking through pics of prom, etc, i'm like "what was i on????"

But now that i'm natural/ transitioning (gosh i'm claiming natural TOO hard!!), I feel like my SL is super short, and when I hit BSL stretched, I'll feel long. hopefully by graduation from college (2013!!) I'll have BSL. 2 years. leggo.

my back is long... even my bangs are long... my sides not so much... these sides of mine need to hurry up and catch up w/the back... NOW!
