Do you think you'll stick to your 2010 challenges?

I've never done a challenge before, but I'm pretty sure it takes a lot hard work and patience. Patience is something I definitely have to work on, it seems like my hair grew overnight when I wasn't obsessed with its health and length.

For the people that have done challenges or are new to it like me what was or will be your motivation, support, inspiration, etc.

Even though i'll have the forum to come to, it'll take a lot for me to build a regimen that works and stick to it..especially when I have a boyfriend who thinks I'm crazily obsessed with hair and a 91 yr old grandma who always says my hair is gonna fall out.

I'm a good one for startin something..doing it for alil bit then stopping due to lack of lazyness or boredum for the matter..But I realize that If i want something I haveeeeeee to discipline myself in it.. In all honesty I may not stick to all, but I will definitely stick to some... I'm ready for my natural hair to reach the length that it was when I was relaxed and shut some people the hell up  and for this, I must discipline myself.. :yep: .

Yes!
Because I haven't joined any! :lachen:
I already know I can't promise to USE ONE and then BUY ONE... make my hair grow any faster than it's going to, drink whatever supplement/vitamin/magic potion DAILY... and whatever else is out there... so I give up. :lachen:

We'll see about the BSL in 2009... I got 2 weeks to make it do what it do.

I start tasks and fail them, where my hair is concerned and thats why it looks a hot damn mess. This is why ive asked for a buddy. I think i may have one.

Well I am going to try my hardest. But not becuase I want to conquer the challenge but because I want my hair to grow and thick and lucious. :D

Im going to try, Ive only joined one for 2010.....joined only one other in the past and dropped out so my track record isnt good lol

I'm hoping to stick to them this year, mainly because I will be wearing weaves for at least 6 months. Since that's the case, it will be easy for me to keep my hands out of my head and stick to the challenges.

...at least that's what I hope. :ohwell:

I joined six or seven last year and actually stuck with all of them. In my opinion, all challenges can be incorporated into a regimen; if you put a good regimen together--and that's the hard part--sticking to the challenges isn't hard. Checking in was the hard part. For instance, I was in an ayurveda challenge and didn't check in for 2 months, but I was still using ayurveda products because it had become part of the routine. I have to DC with every wash anyway so that was easy, and I alternate moisture and protein DCs so the protein challenge was easy. I keep my hair twisted so the Twist for Growth and PS challenges were easy. It's all about keeping it simple and consistent, IMO. Good luck!

I'm in 2 challenges mbl 2010, and lhcf boot camp 2010. I will definitely stick to my challenges. I've been doing this thing for 3 years now and I have a regimen that I don't have to think about and all of my products and utensils. I'm good. Let's go!

I am in 50-11 challenges for the beginning of the year most of them are about protective styling so I believe I will be able to stick to them no problem

- 2010 Weave it up challenge (6 months)
- BSL 2010
- Get your hands out of your hair 2010
- hide your hair 2010 (Nov 1- April 30
- 6 month growth challenge 4a/b naturals
- Protective styling last 3 months Oct-Dec

All of this year I figured out how to maintain healthy hair, so 2010 is all about growth for me! Most of the challenges overlap so I am excited

I have one wish challenge just to keep me focused... The 2010 MBL challenge I dunno if I will make it this year, but a girl can dream right!?!

The MBL challenge is the one I'm looking forward to the most too. Before lhcf I never would've thought growth from apl to mbl was possible but I think we can do it!

I've forgotten many challenges before this, but I really need to stick it out so I can reach my hair goals. I've been slacking off and my hair hasn't seen much growth because of it.

I'm a newbie so I'm new to the challenges, but I'm hoping that I can stick to them. If I can wake up every weekday at 5am to go to the gym, I'm thinking I should be able to stick to a hair regimen. If I fail, it'll be all on me :spank:

Yes I do. I've only joined 2 and I'm doing one personal challenge (stick to a routine). I think limiting myself really helps. If I tried to do too much at once I probably wouldn't stick with them.

I am new to the forum and this will be my first challenges. I am going to try my best to keep to all my challenges. I am doing them to help my hair grow thick and healthy, while setting an example for my daughter.

I think I'll stick to my challenges this time around (although I've barely stuck to LHCF challenges in the past). I spent most of 2009 figuring out what my hair likes and doesn't like and got the whole PJ thing out of my system. Now that I actually have a regimen and a plan, it will be much easier to stick it out and make some progress. Plus, I signed up for challenges that kind of go hand-in-hand and actually subscribed to the threads to remind me to check in. For instance, I now stretch my relaxers to 6 months (Long Term Stretch Challenge) using the Crown and Glory Method (Braid Challenge), so learning how to detangle (Detangling Challenge) when I am letting my hair rest is a must! This is all in order to reach my ultimate goal looking and feeling sexy (Carb Cycling Challenge) with some flowing hair (APL Challenge, Knockout Nape Challenge) by the end of the year!

I am a newbie so I signed up for two challenges:

Newbie challenge 2010
Rollersetting challenge 2010

The newbie challenge is gonna teach me how to take proper care of my hair and the rollersetting can easily incorporated into that so I should be able to do both successfully.

The rules for the challenges I joined :

1. There are no "rules" per se, just do what works for your hair, stay positive, and continue to support each other on our healthy hair growth journey.

2. Baby your ends (Moisturize and seal WHENEVER they feel dry)
Low Manipulation (Try not to comb them too much, but do what works)
Limit the heat (This may not be the case for everyone, do what works)
Protect them (Especially if you're at a vulnerable length).

:reddancer:

So to answer you question in a word... sure.:yep:

I think I will stick to the challenges I'm on :)

If you don't, you are only human... lhcf hair buddies will always support you and understand! :yep:

Not like you'll be stoned if you don't succeed, lol. For 2010 I joined some challenges, but they are all personal challenges as well.

yes because I am so behind on progess. I have been so busy and stress with school these past three years that I have not gotten the progess I really wanted. I should have a good 6 more inches than I do  Its also because it is cold as heck in this place and just dries out my hair for half the year...even with tons of shea butter

My this time next year I will be FULL bra-strap Im.not.playing

I will stick to the 2010 challenges that I joined because all of them are a part of my routine anyway so it's not hard for me to maintain.

I sure hope so. I joined the rollersetting challenge and this is something that I can never commit to because of the time it takes. I know that it will improve the condition of my hair so I'm going to give it my best shot!

I'm hoping I will stick to all of the challenges that I joined for 2010...I know I fell off with the ones that I joined last year (MT challenge and Super healthy ends challenge...) but I'm starting my second year of healthy hair care in Jan and I need to step it up..I tend to get lazy when my hair is in a weave so I'm trying to get over that and remember to moisturize everyday. I hope to make significant progress in 2010 :)

Yes because as Ronnieaj said its about putting together a good regime that works well for you. I know I am hair lazy so I have chosen challenges to incorporate this hair lazyness.

Also my husband has promised me EP hair if I get to APL by Dec 2010... incentive or what?

I think I can handle my hair challenge. I didn't even try a fitness challenge because I would probably fail... I've been thinking about one of the cooking challenges, but I don't have the guts to commit.

I made it through the baggy challenge. That was fun. I have joined two for the new year, and they are somewhat easy, all I do is keep doing what I am already doing. '0)

Hip Length/Healthy Ends in 2010! I think I will make it!
